Melody begins a new era.

Melody has the kids for a photoshoot. The unfortunate thing is this is their first photoshoot together without their dad Martell. This was after the Fletcher’s last-minute intervention that failed. So Melody is using this photoshoot to signify a new beginning. Destiny stops by the photoshoot for a quick chat.

Mel tells Destiny about her latest altercation with Martell which surprises Destiny. Martell’s been telling Destiny, and others that he wants his marriage back. However, Melody is done. Destiny asks if her kids will meet their sibling and Melody brushes off the question. She’s not ready to address that thought.

Martell reveals why he kept dealing with Arionne.

Meanwhile, Martell visits his therapist, Dr. Francis. Apparently, Martell has been skipping out on his therapy sessions. He tells Dr. Francis he’s at his lowest and feels like he has nothing. Martell still leans on Melody wasn’t giving him everything he wanted. He says Melody slowed down with s*x and stopped complimenting him.

Dr. Francis says Martell didn’t have to cheat to satisfy his needs as Melody was withholding.

Interestingly enough, he indirectly says he really grew to love sleeping with Arionne while being married to Melody. In his interview, he says he got caught up being loyal to Arionne and Melody and Melody told him he had to choose one or the other.

Martell then dodges questions from Dr. Francis about Arionne being pregnant, eventually telling him she is indeed pregnant. Dr. Francis tells him he’s not a bad man for getting Arionne pregnant but he needs to do all he can to take care of all of his children. Despite this, Martell still wants all of his children to be proud of him.

Martell gets Arionne to agree to a DNA test.

After months of construction, LaTisha and Marsau are ready to open their cigar lounge. To celebrate, they’re hosting a soft opening that the whole case is invited to. As they await their guests, Martell is on the way. While driving, he calls Arionne to talk about his visit with Dr. Francis. She asks if he called her a peasant again and he says no. The conversation turns to a DNA test and Arionne feels betrayed by Martell’s asking for this.

In his interview, Martell says while Arionne showed great loyalty to him, he wants 100% certainty the child is his as they aren’t together 24/7. Arionne agrees to the test.

He then arrives at the soft opening and he apologizes to LaTisha for his outburst at Kimmi’s event. Interestingly enough, Miss Wanda and Marlene have become good friends. The Fletchers show up next and greet LaTisha, Martell, and Marsau. They bring up the intervention and how Melody went off on Martell.

Kimmi and Maurice are on the way and they’re happy for LaTisha and Marsau. They’re also happy that Jaylin is the General Manager.

Melody shows up too with her brother Marcus as her plus one.

Eventually, the party gets off without a hitch as Jaylin tells his parents he’s going to be doing multiple jobs as he’s down a server.

LaTisha apologizes to Melody.

Later on, LaTisha pulls Melody aside to apologize for her comments the last time they talked. They also agree to move forward as Melody accepts her apology. But in her interview, Melody isn’t sure if LaTisha is being truthful.

Eventually, the Scotts pull everyone outside for a big reveal. It’s a mural of all of the Scott sons. Melody and Destiny point out that it doesn’t show the daughters and Melody reminds Destiny that Marsau’s sexist.

Next, Marcus pulls Martell aside for yet another talk. During this talk, Martell brings up how he’s uncomfortable with Marcus’s marriage. He doesn’t want his kids to be “confused” by a “Husband-Husband” relationship. He wants their “foundation” to be husband-wife instead. Marcus takes this as Martell has questions about his kids being around a same-s*x relationship. Melody comes by and interjects that Martell’s cheating was more damaging to the kids than Marcus’s marriage.

Marcus then leaves to let Martell and Melody talk. This devolves into an argument.

Martell disrespects Melody.

Eventually, things calm down as Martell says their kids are being affected by the divorce and he wishes this never happened. But Melody does all she can to fight back tears as she tells Martell he did not value her, the kids, or the marriage.

She brings up Arionne, calling her an enemy and how that forever changed her relationship with Martell.

Martell, however, keeps saying it’s both their fault that their relationship failed, as he still blames her for not doing what he wanted in the marriage.

This causes another argument between the failed couple and Martell eventually walks away. In her interview, Melody says Martell seemingly wanted to be married and single at the same time.

As Melody wipes away tears, Destiny walks over to check on her. Melody vents to Destiny about Martell being disrespectful, calling her a h*e. She tells Destiny that this marriage should’ve been over. Kimmi and LaTisha then come over and she vents to them also about Arionne being pregnant. She also tells them Martell doesn’t even have an attorney to complete the divorce.

Everyone is there to support Melody, even LaTisha, and Melody appreciates the gesture.
