Mia has thoughts about Chris managing Candiace.
Dorothy is over to help Candiace make some decoration decisions for her new house. She’s in town to support Candiace as she films her music video. In a green screen interview, Candiace says Dorothy visits even more now that her name is no longer on the deed. And she’s annoyed.
Gizelle’s daughter Grace recently passed her learners permit exam. So Gizelle has been spending time trying to teach her how to drive. It’s been stressful.
Mia’s mother talks to her on FaceTime. They are going to have an ice cream outing with the children. Things are going well for their relationship.
She also talks to her husband Gerald about Chris managing Candiace. Mia believes that things don’t go well when husbands manage their wives. She tried that with Gerald, and it didn’t work out. So she doesn’t think it’s a good idea. Plus, she thinks Candace’s music career will flop if it’s too much drama behind the scenes.
Robyn gets real with Juan.
Wendy goes over her ideas for her home essentials line with Eddie. She’s wanting to put out candles first. She doesn’t want to spend over $60,000. And Eddie feels like Wendy has a lot of work to do to get things going.
Ashley is spending some time with family including her mother Sheila and Uncle Lump. She tells them Micheal wants to produce movies now. He wants Ashley to help him. They remind her things didn’t work out with Oz. But Ashley feels she’s learned enough to make going into business with Michael work the second time around.
Juan goes with Robyn to find warehouse space for her hat business. She is honest and tells him she feels like he can be too harsh when he’s trying to motivate her. So he tells her he will do better. And Robyn is glad she was able to say how she felt and he listened.
After dance rehearsals, Candiace calls Chris. She’s not happy to learn he won’t be at the upcoming video shoot because he has a cooking class that evening. But he doesn’t see the issue. He tells her he will make sure the cars get there that are needed for the video. Things get tense as both are irritated with each other.
Mia crosses the line.
It’s the day of Candiace’s music video. Dorothy is there as well as the rest of the ladies (with the exception of Ashley who wasn’t invited). Candiace’s assistant tells her that the cars never arrived. And this was something Chris was supposed to make happen. Since cars were the big plot, Candiace has to think fast. She asks some of the ladies if she can use their cars as the backdrop.
Mia asks Dorothy if Chris is coming. Dorothy says she doesn’t know but he was at the house when she left.
Mia asks if Chris is getting paid to manage Candiace. Dorothy says she doesn’t think so and some of the others think Mia shouldn’t have done this. Wendy wastes no time telling Candiace that Mia asked if Chris is getting paid.
Dorothy tells Karen that she didn’t think Chris would quit his job and become a househusband. She wishes he would be more ambitious. This makes Karen uncomfortable.
Dorothy has more to say to Robyn and Gizelle.
As everyone is going over the choreography, Chris comes storming to the set. He was told there were no cars for the shoot. But things were handled as Candiace was able to use some of the cast’s cars. They hug it out since everything came together. Meanwhile, Dorothy tells Robyn and Gizelle that all Chris really does is side gigs. She also says she doesn’t want to get into the mortgage situation either. And when Gizelle says she believes Chris is riding Candiace’s coattails, Dorothy agrees.
