Nate’s barbershop hosts its grand-opening celebration at the beach.

Nathan’s barbershop is hosting its grand-opening party at the local beach. Nathan’s hosting with his fellow barbers’ food trucks are abound as the beach is also packed with other groups. Issa, Kelli, and Molly are there too. When they arrive, Molly talked about her latest date. While the date went well, the bedroom time left plenty to be desired. Kelli jokes that she could help Molly out in that department and everyone shares a good laugh. Issa also points out a shady Instagram post from Crenshawn.

Issa sees Nathan and heads over to talk. But Nathan isn’t interested in talking at the moment, seemingly brushing Issa off. Interestingly enough, Kelly and Molly end up playing spades with barbers from Nathan’s shop. As they play, Issa spots Nathan getting close and flirting with another woman named Resha. But before Issa walks away, Resha calls Issa over to say hey. When Resha runs off into the ocean, Issa asks Nathan if they’re still cool and friends.

As if things couldn’t get worse, an earthquake hits and everyone has to leave the beach. Nathan shouts out that drinks are on the barbershop at the next spot, Sharkeez. Nathan’s fellow barber and friend Moe drives them to the Sharkeez. While on the ride, Nathan vents to the guys about Issa calling him over to cuddle and how she ended up crying. His friends say that Issa wants more.

Crenshawn comes for Issa on social media.

Meanwhile, Crenshawn gets overt with the criticism of Issa, calling her a sellout on Instagram. Issa sees this comment while riding to the spot with Resha and a barber from Nathan’s shop with Kelli and Molly. Annoyed, Issa and Molly text each other about the ride and Issa tells Molly about what happened at the beach. Molly then decides to help by asking Resha if she’s sleeping with Nathan. She says no and he’s like a brother to her. Issa then starts to think Nathan just isn’t messing with her like that.

When they make it to the party spot, Issa and Nathan talk about their expectations, and Nathan apologizes for kissing her. Meanwhile, Issa apologizes for inviting him to spend the night.

Nathan’s cousin Thomas and his wife stop. Nathan introduces them to everyone. Issa learns they are local to the area. As they catch up, Thomas tells a story of how Nathan ghosted him during a concert in Houston. When it’s found out that Jason Derulo is throwing a party, they all make moves to head to the party, including Issa and Molly. While on the way, Issa is seeing herself trend on Twitter thanks to Crenshawn, Molly flirts with Nathan’s fellow barber Aric, and Nathan bonds with his cousin.

Issa and Nathan decide to become more than friends.

When they all arrive at the party, Aric finds out he can get only one person in. So, he pulls Molly into the party with him. Later on, Nathan and Thomas had a tense conversation about their former living arrangements. Thomas didn’t like Nathan’s aloofness and the constant coming and going. His wife Velma felt it was a good idea to accept the blame for it all. This troubles Nathan who’s no longer in a mood to party. When Issa comes to him, he walks off. But Issa reappears by his side minutes later.

They talk and Nathan explains he was experiencing manic episodes when he was living with them. He never told Thomas or Velma about his mental condition. This conversation leads to them talking about what they expect from whatever they have. They both come to the conclusion they want to be more than friends and then seal this with a kiss just as another earthquake hits.
