Erica Dixon Receives Backlash for Controversial Tweet

Erica Dixon caused a stir on social media recently.

Love And Hip Hop Atlanta” star Erica Dixon had plenty of controversial moments on the show. Most fans came to know her thanks to her on and off romance with Scrappy. Although Scrappy proposed and they seemed to have hit their stride, the engagement didn’t work out. Erica accused Scrappy of being unfaithful. So they had a messy breakup. He would eventually end up marrying Bambi. Fans have seen their failures at peaceful co-parenting play out on the show. Things got so bad that Erica and Scrappy were only communicating through text messages. Momma Dee urged the adults to fix their issues because it was impacting Scrappy and Erica’s daughter. They seemed to hash it all out at “VH1: Family Reunion.” However, Erica would later tell her supporters that she’s back on bad terms with Bambi and Scrappy.

And Erica has no problem making her feelings known about Scrappy and Bambi on social media. She’s honestly tired of being linked to them after all these years.

Well, Erica is having a controversial moment on social media. Hours ago, she penned some thoughts that have some on social media accusing her of being ignorant and homophobic.

One of the most disappointing things I had to learn was unfortunately some women happily embrace toxic masculinity and homophobia. Erica should know better but it’s up to her to do better. This isn’t the first time she’s posted something very ignorant.

Yuck! Nobody should still have these kind of views in 2021!

Erica posted a question or she was asking a question. Anything a person post everyone is not gonna agree with. That’s why people are born different have different opinions etc… Idk why people get so mad or be like cancel this person for their views or opinions.
    Happy Holidays to everyone

Just stop. This isnt homophobic. They reaching. In this day and age you need to look at all flags and all signs if you are trying to date someone. If you not trying to date them than who cares. People fake mad.

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, the black community is very toxic. Black women will hold up the very system that hurts us the most. Toxic masculinity is killing black women in large numbers. Look at the stats. Then you’ll have black women like Erica get on Twitter and question if it’s a red flag for a man to call another man nice looking. Why do black people love toxicity so much? What other race of men are confined in boxes that leads to a large number of them spending years in prison? Young black boys afraid to show each other kindness and compassion because ignorant black people think compliments are gay. Get it together black people. You look like fools.

A lot of black women are homophobic, transphobic, and misogynists. But if you bring this up, they’ll deflect and say you’re making it all up. Just sit back and read the comments on the internet.

Look, Erica is a bit ignorant. I peeped this when she posted a colorist “joke” on Instagram. She’s one of those black women that associates light skin with femininity. So she clowns light skinned men without realizing her views are in line with Bambi saying she looks like a man and has nappy hair. Usually those who are colorist are also homophobic too. So this tweet doesn’t surprise me. I recommend people stop sharing all their thoughts on Twitter and IG. Get a journal instead so you can stop embarrassing yourself.

Did you see Bambi’s recent post where she was asking why people cared so much about buying black dolls for black children? These “questions” tell you a lot about people and the issues they have.

On the surface, Erica’s tweet looks harmless. But it’s actually dangerous because our community isn’t really allowing black men and boys to exist outside of harmful stereotypes. Black men aren’t encouraged to show emotions. They aren’t encouraged to compliment their friends or even do things like cook. There was outrage when a black parent posted their black son being happy about having a new kid’s stove. Comments flooded in by black women saying this was “gay.” Meanwhile, chefs make good money. And here we go again with a black woman thinking it’s gay for a man to say another man is nice looking. These kinds of women will be the same ones to complain about not finding a good man and being single in their 40s and 50s. It’s not gay to say another man is attractive. Women do it all the time and no one questions our s*xuality. The red flag is Erica’s tweet and her mindset.

Erica is too old to be tweeting stupid sh-t like this. I’m not about to pretend otherwise because I thought she was cool as f-ck on LHHATL. Stop tweeting this dumb sh-t people.

  11. And What?

    December 30, 2021 at 11:15 am

Umm this is homophobia. It’s weird because a lot of women will use the slang created from gay men, use gay men to pick out their outfits, do their hair and makeup, etc. but tweet things like this like it’s fine. This is gross.

@ Oprah’s Wig, okay so I’m not the only person who saw that colorist IG post from Erica earlier this year. I’ve been giving her the side eye since.

We all have a choice in life. We can get better and wiser as we age or die as fools. Like they said on Martin, young fools become old fools. I don’t know how anyone can read this tweet and not see an issue unless they hold some very problematic views. The fact that most of her replies are negative means that there has been some progression in our community. And I’m grateful.

Then people wonder why so many black boys want to be thugs. If they are anything outside of thuggish, then people like Erica think they are gay. Congratulations on the homophobia though Erica. ?

I like Erica and have defended her on here a lot over the years. But this tweet isn’t a good look. It made her look very ignorant. Sometimes we shouldn’t tweet everything we think. People share too much because they want to look real but everything shouldn’t be shared. Erica is 37 years old according to Google. She shouldn’t still have this mentality.

I cringe every time black people are homophobic like this. Makes no sense for a marginalized community to be so ignorant towards another marginalized community.

If Erica doesn’t sit down with this silly sh-t. She sounds stupid.

  18. The Truth

    December 30, 2021 at 12:56 pm

Umm men and women are both aware of what society considers good looking. That doesn’t make a man gay. I honestly wonder how some people still have such outdated views like this. Especially someone like Erica who has 3 kids and is also a hop and skip away from 40 years old.

Well this is disappointing. Thought she was better than this.

There was a moment where everyone was yelling black boy joy. The point of it was to free black males and allow them to stop being stereotyped. So why are tweets like this still happening?

  21. Michelle

    December 30, 2021 at 1:36 pm

It’s really strange how some black people think the worst thing someone could be is gay. So women spend a lot of time worrying about a man they are attracted to being gay.

Everything is a red flag to women like this except the things that should be.

Why is it that anytime a person has an opinion or disagrees with something it’s homophobic? Smh ??‍♀️

So homophobic and ignorant. Now if I brought up all the red flags I think she has, people will be mad and talk about protect black women.

There isn’t anything wrong with a man saying another man is nice-looking. Women say other women are attractive all the time, but does this make us lesbians….no, of course not. Erica should have thought twice before she posted this. I liked Erica a lot and can someone tell me when she posted the colorist comment? That is ridiculous and Bambi’s question on Black dolls is even more heartbreaking.

  27. I SAID, WHAT I SAID!

Unfortunately A LOT of Black Women are misogynistic.

Why should I take her seriously when Scrappy is her baby daddy? She has TWO baby daddies.

    She is just slow!

Some people think the dumbest and pettiest sh-t are red flags. There are people out here who think it’s red flags for Erica to be unmarried and have children by two different men. I’m sure she disagrees, right? Having children before marriage doesn’t mean someone isn’t good enough to date just like a straight man saying another man is nice looking doesn’t mean he’s gay. People need to learn what should actually be considered red flags and stop being so homophobic all the time.
