Tariq St. Patrick has found even more trouble on the first “Power” spinoff.

Power Book II: Ghost” has focused on Tariq St. Patrick’s journey after he killed his father James St. Patrick. Initially, Tariq was trying to avoid prison time for his father’s murder. And his mother Tasha was willing to take the murder charge to spare his future. After Tariq was able to work things out and get Tasha put in witness protection, he’s been trying to make it on his own. On season 2, things have only gotten more complicated. Tariq is once again trying to avoid a prison sentence. He’s being looked at as the person responsible for the deaths of his professor and a police officer. Plus, Tariq created a successful drug operation on the campus of his university.

Tariq was able to set up shop with the help of Brayden Weston and Effie Morales. But he has also been working with the Tejada family and that’s brought in more problems for him. In fact, Cane Tejada is the one who shot Professor Jabari Reynolds first and forced Tariq to finish the job. Cane also killed Officer Ramirez. He planted Ramirez’s badge in Tariq’s dorm room so Tariq could take the fall.

Interestingly enough, Tariq isn’t the only one who is caught up. Tariq’s girlfriend Lauren Baldwin was also pulled into the situation because Professor Carrie Milgram set her up to wear a wire and get information on Tariq who Carrie suspected sold drugs and killed Reynolds.

On the latest episode, it seemed as if Effie felt like she needed to be the one to make Lauren disappear to keep everyone else out of prison. So some fans are wondering if Lauren is actually dead because her death never took place onscreen. Well, the actress who portrays Effie riled people up on Twitter with a tweet. And “Power” universe creator Courtney Kemp set the record straight about Monet Tejada’s future with her daughter Diana Tejada.
