“Power” has a lot of fans talking. The current season will be the show’s final season. And so far, a lot of blood has been shed. But it’s the latest episode that seems to be getting a lot of criticism. The episode was a difficult one for Ghost. Not only does Tommy believe Ghost killed LaKeisha but he tried to get even through Jason. Jason had no idea Ghost was about to kill him until Tommy sent him a text in the middle of Ghost’s efforts. And Jason nearly killed Ghost.

Then Ghost had a nasty confrontation with Tasha. After he called Tasha out for helping Tariq sell drugs, he snapped. And he assaulted her.

Tasha told Tariq what happened and he was furious. He confronted Ghost and made his feelings known. Tariq doesn’t believe Ghost has ever ben a real father to him. He also threatened to kill Ghost if he touches Tasha ever again.

Some of the viewers don’t understand why Tariq has so much hate for Ghost. So they are criticizing the show’s writing. Courtney Kemp decided to break it down.

How does it not make sense? Ghost has done a lot of sh-tty things to Tommy, Tasha and his kids. The hate for him from them actually makes sense. Now the way Benny went out did not. Just saying.

Exactly. We know all too well of guys that hate their dads and girls that hate their moms that seem unrealistic to normal folk.

Ghost leaving Tasha for Angela is enough alone to make his kids resent him. You have grown men out here who still haven’t forgiven their fathers for cheating on their mothers when they were kids.

It makes no sense. Just because your father cheats don’t make it ok to plot murder on him.

I think the storyline hits home for some female viewers because it honestly makes no sense for Tariq to become crazy over this

Huh? Tariq has not plotted to murder Ghost. And if he does later on, he’d have multiple reasons to do so as Courtney said here. These people are murderers and criminals. They kill for all kinds of reasons. Don’t conveniently forget that now. I said it does make sense for Tariq to RESENT Ghost due to the Angela situation alone. A lot of grown-ups out here resent their fathers for hurting their mothers. That concept doesn’t get tossed out the window because yall love Ghost so much.

The idea of a son wanting his father dead all because he had an affair sounds retarded. And he plotting on his father’s death… I enjoy the show but it just makes no sides

I’ve already addressed this. And so has Courtney. She broke down the MULTIPLE reasons Tariq hates Ghost. It’s not just about Angela. So I’m not sure why y’all keep saying it is.

Same here. I feel like the Tariq tangent draws too much time from the original set pieces. I know they are trying to widen the viewer demographic by making Tariq a top 4 character on the show. Saying that, I’m still glued to it.

Everyone including Courtney seems to forget, Tasha started the cheating first with Ghost bodyguard… And really it is disrespectful the way he talks to ghost, just giving kids the idea to be disrespectful

Being a cheating husband doesn’t equate to being a bad father. Tariq in my opinion is a child and Ghost treats him as such. I don’t fault anyone who wants better for their child. Kannan came back in with the intent to murder Ghost–que pink sneakers….. Ghost has been honest with Tasha after she confronted him and again every time the world came crashing Ghost buried the family out. I think they all need a couch and to talk their problems out.

I dont agree that Tariq shouldn’t be mad but he told the truth The writing is very much trash this season, all over the place.

The problem is these teenagers think they can talk to there parents any way they want to. A grown person dont owe No Kids any explanation.. All this new age stuff dont make no sense.. Kids need to stay in kids places….

      Stay in the child lane!

Totally agree. That’s one of the reason today why most parents have no control over their kids and they are wilding out in society and home. Some ideas should be kept as such and not displayed on the screen because so many young people want to be hard nowadays and this hate for his dad can actually play out in real life or in the streets.

Most of yall saying a child should stay in a child’s lane but his family was lying to him.. foh I would’ve hate ghost too. Y’all think it’s okay to treat kids like they are not human beings and they don’t feel. look at the example they set for that young boy.. alot of kids have depression & kills them self because of parents like that. Get to know your CHILD. JUST CAUSE YOU BIRTH THEM DOESNT MEAN YOU KNOW THEM IN AND OUT

There is no need for Tariq to hate his father when he is trying to be his father. He was raised a rich kid and did not have to struggle. Now he is all grown up which he is still a kid and hates his father but wants to be just like him. Another thing Tasha also lied to that kid and yet he does hates his father when his father is trying to protect him. Ghost been trying to get out of the drug game but they keep pulling him back in. The kid needs a a-s whipping because he has no idea what he is doing. Just saying lol

Tariq is a worthless kid,he has been given a great life that he throws away,he got his sister killed, and he has the nerve to disrespect his dad.

Also, why in the world in a show created by a woman are the women of such low character????

In terms of character there is only one you would feel comfortable taking home t meet the family, and that is the political consultant.

Courtney Kemp no disrespect but I m going to disagree what you said that you agree with Tariq the hate he has for his father has nothing to do with him being Angela he still loved all three of his kids Tariq R I P Raina and Yaz .. He cheated and left Tarsha because she wanted him to be the biggest drug dealer in N0y but 0ghost wanted out of the drug game and focus on his business at truth also Angela wanted the best for Jamie slash Ghost , I’m sorry but I’m team Ghost also Tariq needs his behind whipped after talking to his father Ghost like I’m serious.

Just because it’s a tv show does that mean it needs to have a sh-tty story line, be unrealistic and stupid? Tariq hates Ghost so much, but loves his no good, sleeping with every man each season, opportunist, only think about herself, poor decision making mama. I dont get it. Tasha lie ever scene yet it’s ok but ghost low down and dirty? That’s a double standard. We need a new writer on these last 5 episodes cas I definitely see a Game of Thrones ending. Why must we wait until Jan.? To see more bullsh-t, ghost already shot. Cold part is he always being accused for something he ain’t do. Team Ghost! Don’t lay a hand on him, periodt!

First off breaking up a family is something that’s hard for kids to ever get over, but to break up a family with no explanation is crazy and the next thing you know you being taken away from the one parent who has done you no wrong and to be pushed into the home of a woman you know nothing about except she the one who you think broke up your happy home. The second thing is when Ghost was suppose to be spending time with Tyriq he pushed him off on Dre another person he knew nothing about and he ended up withKanan who traumatized him by way of Jukebox only to save him from her and he told him his truth about his dad, when Ghost could have told his own truth. To top that off his side chick put him in jail to further humiliate the family, they went through a lot and then Ghost kept lying to him and to put his hands on his mom topped the cake, remember he couldn’t save his sister, Tyriq is not about to lose his mom.

Some of yall are doing too much. If Tariq behaved the way yall wanted him to there would be no show. All of these people make questionable decisions yet yall seem to have an issue with Tariq the most. I guess it’s because he’s one of the few people who actually will tell Ghost about himself.

I was expecting a better ending. From the beginning Ghost was meant to be this mastermind who was feared by all. But in the show it seems no one really gives a f— about him. I liked this last episode because you see a Ghost comeback but I just feel that he should be a step ahead of the rest. And that Terry Silver piece please. The writer has made a great show up until season 5. I think they are under too much pressure to have a perfect ending that they are now making too many mistakes with the story line

Tariq is too disrespectful to Ghost. His parents broke up,it happens everday. Why would Ghost tell a child about his business dealings? Tasha and Tommy’s hands are dirty, but he didnt stop loving them.Tariq is the reason Raina died,he needs to deal with that.Courtney and the writers got attitudes, when viewers pose questions about half a-sed plots.

I’m watching the show again because I loved it. It’s interesting that no one ever takes not of the very first episode. Ghost opened up to Tasha about going legit. Did she support him? No. Tommy said Ghost never stepped out on her before. So we can ignore the bitter cliches concerning men. Angela supported a legal life, Tasha did not. Saw him as more than a drug dealer.

Later on Tasha accused ghost of, “getting us hooked into your sh-t.” So… let me get the straight. He wants to go clean because the life is dangerous. “I don’t know any old drug dealers.” Yet she doesn’t want him out of the game, but the first sign of danger is how he endangers the family. When he tells her a plan to get out of the game, she runs to Tommy and snitches every time.

I read the writer’s reason, and it still doesn’t make sense. She can frame it from her perspective all she wants, but she’ll never know what it’s like to be a son. Tariq was supposed to be smart. You can’t figure out why a drug dealer would lie about being one? You can’t figure out from your father’s behavior how desperately he tried to get out of the life, and why? Teenagers actually don’t hate their parents. That is a misconception. Teenagers on average have very similar values to their parents and treating teenagers as a problem becomes a self fulfilling prophecy. So the writer wrote the story as such Granted the show starts at the most interesting places in his life. It doesn’t show the good times of playing ball with his dad, and the good faithful father and husband he always was.

Raina got it, which is why she pleaded with him. Ghost, Kanan, Tasha, Angela, and even Dre were more complex characters. Tariq was written in too much of a simple way for his hate to have that much of an impact. The fact that most fans of the show feel that way about him is telling. I mean she can stubbornly hold on the way she wrote Tariq, but it doesn’t mean it makes sense, or ever will. In the end, it’s a story, limited by a writer’s imagination.
