Sanya irritates Kenya.
Kandi Is upset about her latest play having to be shut down because of the pandemic. The latest strain hit the cast hard and they couldn’t afford to not do a show for the ten days recommended by doctors. In a green screen interview, Kandi breaks down in tears. She’s so disappointed about this. And she doesn’t want to let other black creators down.
However, she has to focus on Ace’s birthday. So she has Drew and Kenya bring their children over to help him celebrate. Sanya calls Kenya about her upcoming couples trip to Jamaica. She stresses that every woman must bring someone. Kenya gets annoyed and hangs up on her.
Kenya tells Kandi and Drew she feels Sanya is being insensitive about her pending divorce.
As for Sanya, she’s shocked by Kenya’s reaction. And Marlo tells her the issue is that Kenya wants to be the “queen bee.”
A discussion about trusts doesn’t sit well with Todd.
Marlo has a session with a parenting coach about her nephews. She cries as she says she worries they will feel abandoned even though they were only kicked out for 30 days. Marlo is told she wasn’t wrong. And she has to make sure her nephews have structure when they return.
Kandi and Todd have a discussion about doing their trusts while talking to Riley and Kayla. Todd would like to pay their children out lump sums of the money they leave to them in the event that they pass away. Riley doesn’t care for this approach. And she questions how Todd and Kandi will be able to do things when they are so different when it comes to parenting. This is the main reason why Kandi is afraid to let Todd make decisions for her regarding their will.
Later, Todd and Kandi discuss this without their daughters. Kandi just wants Todd to understand that no one was trying to upset him. They just feel he can be very strict sometimes when it comes to giving the children money. He truly worries they won’t learn how to work for the things they want.
Todd encourages Kandi.
They change the topic. One of the producers of Kandi’s latest play asked Kandi to be a producer for another play.
While Kandi worries she should stay away due to the pandemic, Todd tells her not to worry about her plays being shut down. She should pursue her dreams at all times and be okay with failure. These are the words Kandi needed to hear.
Sanya decides to throw a surprise get-together for Sheree’s birthday. While there, Sanya and Kenya talk about Kenya hanging up on her over the couples’ trip. Kenya is told she can bring whoever she wants and it doesn’t have to be a romantic partner. Sanya also apologizes for confusing her and making her think she had to bring a man.
Sheree and Drew end up having an argument over Fatum’s actions and the dog treats drama. Drew takes issue with Sheree not checking Fatum. But Sheree thinks Drew is the messy one in the situation.
Regardless, the ladies end the event on a good note and Drew even sings happy birthday to Sheree.
