‘Love & Marriage: Detroit’ Ratings Hit Series Low

LAMDT ratings are the lowest ever.

Love & Marriage: Huntsville” has been a hit show for OWN. The show breaking ratings records and controversies involving the original cast members were likely what made Carlos King believe the show could become a successful franchise for the television network. After LAMH left its mark, “Love & Marriage: DC” and “Love & Marriage: Detroit” were added. LAMDC started strong thanks to Monique Samuels and Chris Samuels leading the cast. However, they did not return for the second season. They divorced shortly after.

The divorce probably wasn’t a shock to RHOP and LAMDC fans considering the former couple was open about their marital issues on both platforms.

Monique has called out Carlos in multiple interviews since. She alleged that she was done worse on LAMDC than “Real Housewives of Potomac.”

After Monique and Chris departed the show, LAMDC continued. However, fans noticed that the show would undergo multiple breaks which made it hard for them to keep up with new episodes.

“Love & Marriage: Detroit” is back for the continuation of its second season. The midseason premiere aired last week. However, ratings are drastic. According to TV Deets, the latest episode only amassed 79,000 viewers. The demo is even more bleak at 0.01 (P18-49), making the episode a series low.

  1. I was out after I saw one of those husbands getting sassy with a black woman he didn’t know and his wife was fine with his behavior. No thank you.

  2. Watched part of one show, it was horrible. Never watched again. Love and Marriage Huntsville was great, however, with the exit of Melody Rogers and the return of Wanda, not interested in this one either. Used to be really fond of Kimmie but she finally showed her true colors with Melody. Destiny should have stayed off as well. It is obvious Carlos has/or is losing his touch. Better to stop while he is ahead.!

  3. I am so tired of Kolby crying about nothing on this show. This season, she is acting as if she is the only woman in american whose had children and takes care of them. Anthony thinks he can do and say what he wants but as soon as somebody calls his bluff, he cries “disrespect”. He onstantly tries to put Brandon down and call him a loser, but his wife Latoya has said she is tired of being the one making the money in their household. He tried to degrade Kristina’s brand mgr, Chelsea and she wasnt having it and he couldnt handle it. The newbie Kimberly is stuck in college days and keeps crying about how hurt she was when she hosted a baby shower for Kristina and she showed up two hours late. Her whole mission is to berate Kristina and Latoya and Kolby are both loving it. They both have come at Kristina over some elementary crap too. They need to scrap the show or get new couples who are not caught up in exploiting their egos.

  4. This show is BORING. The storylines seem to be contrived inauthentic. I tried really hard to support but find myself fast forwarding through most of the episodes. I finally couldn’t take it anymore and totally deleted it from my DVR. Kolby has become so annoying and acts like she’s the first and last pregnant woman who is not getting the kind of help she needs from her husband. The new girl harping on and on about her history with Kristina comes across as dehydrated. She and her husband have no storyline and but for this Kristina thing, would be irrelevant and add nothing to the show. As for Anthony, well oh dear, where do I begin? He reminds me of a saying I heard somewhere that goes “It’s better to be quiet and be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.” Bottomline, the cast is just not that interesting and likable and If the viewers are not feeling the cast, the show will just not be successful because people won’t care enough to tune in.

  5. Agreed. First coming back in mid season after we’ve already forgotten the strangled storyline. Sometimes I find myself lost at what the issues are. The color template they use is soo dark. I just don’t get it!
