Jenard attends a rally of people protesting in response to the little girl’s death at the hands of one of his own. He learns the police department is now working with the feds to deal with the crime problems and gang wars. He and his crew now have a task force to worry about. This isn’t going to be good for Jenard or anyone else in the drug game.
Tommy alerts JP about the recent attempt made on his life. He gives JP a gun to keep him and D-Mac safe. D-Mac becomes upset when he is told he will not be given a firearm.
Miguel may be on to Tommy and Diamond.
Kate pops up at Tommy’s place while he’s nervous about someone else trying to kill him for Chewy’s death. She tells him she’s in AA. And part of the process is apologizing to those they have hurt. She apologizes for not being the “perfect mother.” Tommy thinks her apology is a joke since she can’t really see how incompetent she is as a mother.
Diamond continues to have some scary moments while he’s cutting his PO’s hair. Their cover for selling drugs was nearly blown once again. And this has become tiresome.
Miguel is furious about his drugs being stolen at his last drop thanks to Tommy’s interference. Although he is blaming two of his own men for the incident, Tommy and Diamond notice that Miguel appears to be sending them a message. All of this is starting to make Diamond concerned. But Tommy thinks they are two steps in front of Miguel. And he has no idea they set him up. So he tells Diamond to stick to their plan.
Tommy meets with Walter to ask him who killed Lilliana. The conversation leads Tommy to conclude that whoever shot her is likely one of his kids. Tommy tells Walter he’s the one who shut down Claudia’s Dahlia business. So Walter should be grateful she was shut down.
Kate attempts to apologize to JP for abandoning him while he was a baby. He questions if she left because she didn’t want to raise a black child. Kate denies being a racist and stresses it was a complicated situation. But JP isn’t sure how to feel. None of it seems fair to him.
Kate has a breakthrough.
Claudia comes home to see her place was ransacked. Her safe is empty. When she confronts Walter for this, he confirms he did it. And he doesn’t feel bad about what he did because Claudia crossed the line. He warns that it is just a matter of time before Tommy figures out she is the one who killed Lilliana. So she is in danger.
Jenard locates the man who shot at Tommy, Lil K, at his grandmother’s house. He points a gun at him for not listening to his instructions which were falling back from Tommy. Lil K’s grandmother saves his life by interrupting the conversation with freshly baked cookies. She tells Jenard he’ll have to kill her if he kills her grandson. And if she’s not killed, she’ll snitch. Jenard thanks her for the cookies and leaves realizing Lil K is an even bigger problem than he originally thought.
Kate goes to an AA meeting to talk about her progress. Her conversations with Tommy and JP hurt her. She doesn’t know how to tell JP her mother told her to give him away because she didn’t know how to raise black children. So it would be too hard. Kate breaks down in tears. She now sees that she is a horrible mother.
Vic gets even with Walter and his men for selling their pills in black neighborhoods while referring to black people as “monkeys.” He calls the police to inform them of where they are selling.
Tommy tells Claudia he knows she is the one who killed Lilliana. He can just feel it. When he can confirm it, he’s going to kill her. And she won’t see it coming. She denies she pulled the trigger.

Tommy sees a change in Kate.
Diamond’s longtime enemy Rojas is behind police trying to squeeze down on Tommy and Diamond’s drug pipeline in the prison. Rojas hates Diamond for putting him in a wheelchair. But he’s forced to work with Diamond once the security guard he’s sleeping with says he’ll either work for Diamond or receive more prison time for selling drugs of his own.
Jenard and Lil K argue while they are in the car. Lil K says the feds have been trying to talk to him but he’s not cooperating. He’s frustrated Jenard doesn’t believe him. And he thinks it’s crazy Jenard is doing all of this when he’s not doing what needs to be done to take care of the crew. Jenard kills him and steals his car as Tommy watches from a distance.
When Tommy makes it back home, he finds a carton of his favorite ice cream in the freezer. He wakes up Kate to thank her. And he’s touched to see her being so considerate. He helps her get to the bed for proper rest.

JP believed her but regrets his actions. And now he wants to have a real relationship with D-Mac. D-Mac accepts JP’s apology. Once JP walks away, D-Mac secretly arms himself with a gun he found in one of the drawers. It’s likely the gun Tommy gifted JP for protection.
