Towanda claims Traci was never “left out” of their original group.
The “The Braxtons” episode continues with Towanda and Trina going off on their producer. Previously, they learned that production wanted to film a scene with Kevin Jr., Kevin Sr., and their father Michael, Sr. Towanda addresses what happened in the 1990s when they signed their group contract. She angrily claims that they never left Traci out of the group.
Sean calms things down, saying he loved Traci and was proud to see her fight until the end.
In another scene, Tamar and Evelyn dine with Towanda and Trina. Towanda explains what’s going on with Kevin Jr. Evelyn alleges Traci knew her son would clash with Kevin, Sr. over the will.
During the conversation, Tamar shares a story about how Traci indirectly helped Tamar write one of her biggest songs after being presented with flowers. This leads to Tamar wiping away tears as she explains that one of Traci’s good friends co-wrote the song.
Tamar questions why she was the last to learn Traci had cancer.
Next, the family comes together to throw Traci a birthday party posthumously. Towanda and Trina are present, along with their kids and the kids’ significant others. Tamar walks in and feels melancholy. This is symbolized by Tamar complaining about a harp player.
Later on during the party, The sisters sit around a photo of Traci as they eat. Tamar explains how she was the last one to find out about Traci’s diagnosis. She learned something was wrong when Tamar witnessed Evelyn crying. However, it wasn’t until Traci was in hospice care that she found out. Evelyn says Traci didn’t want her to Tell Tamar or Toni.
Trina mentions that Tamar was at odds with Traci. Tamar refutes this, mentioning Traci opened up for her during a tour and helped her “put her closet together” in Tamar’s California home. She sits in her green screen interview, cherishing the positive memories more and wishing she had more time with Traci. Denise, her family friend, says Traci didn’t want to burden them with what she was dealing with.
What are your thoughts about the episode?
I guess the whole point of this show was damage control. These people are fake and toxic. Evelyn really did a number on her children.
Throw the whole show away.
Are we supposed to forget how terribly Tamar treated Traci? Or that they all treated her like the outcast? This show is so weird. They act like BFV never happened.
They are truly capitalizing off Traci’s death. How sad. This show should have never returned. Toni doesn’t seem to want to take part in the foolishness.
I wouldn’t tell Tamar anything about my personal life if she was my sister. She’s emotionally abusive and airs out your personal business on a mad day.
