Karen Huger was sentenced today.
“Real Housewives of Potomac” star Karen Huger has been in the headlines for months thanks to her being charged with DUI and DWI. During the current season, Karen told her costars she would be vindicated in court. However, she was convicted in March of last year. Videos of Karen in a drunken state at the scene of the crash made rounds all over social media. Regardless, in a video message Karen did for the reunion, she denied having a drinking problem. She said she was on antidepressants while drinking.
Karen did not physically appear at the reunion because she had checked into rehab. Interestingly enough, prosecutors argued that the rehab program Karen went to was more of a “luxury spa” than a rehab center.
Prosecutors wanted Karen to be sentenced to jail time because they claimed the March 2024 conviction wasn’t her first. She had two prior DUI/DWI convictions. The third one was reportedly pled down to reckless driving.
Earlier today, Karen appeared in court for her sentencing. According to Fox 5 Washington DC, Karen was sentenced to two years with one year suspended. Prior to today’s sentencing, prosecutors told the judge the reality star should serve at least six months behind bars.
I’m so disappointed in Karen. But she needs to serve time! I hope she gets the help she needs so she won’t hurt herself and someone else!
You know what, Karen could’ve did her time at home with an ankle monitor and a breathalyzer test done when she least expects it. This court system is all messed up. This is my opinion and stand by it.

Y’all Karen wasn’t going to take this seriously unless they locked her up. This is so sad.

This was Karen’s FOURTH (4th) offense. She needed to be locked up. She could have seriously hurt or killed someone. A 4th offense and you going around calling yourself THE GRAND DAME. Girl, go sit down somewhere and the only reason she treated Wendy so poorly is because Karen is jealous of Wendy and Wendy’s success. I like Karen but she’s got some soul searching to do and now she will have 2 years to do it.
No way do I condone drinking and driving, but prison? Others have done worse and got less time. Karen was used to make an example of. Her last DUI was over 10 years ago, there’s drivers with much more recent charges who are still driving without jail time.
