Takari Lee speaks out amid the current and controversial season of “Basketball Wives.”
“Basketball Wives” fans have been very critical of the latest season due to how things are unfolding between Jackie Christie and her daughter Chantel Christie. As we reported, the trailer for the season showed that Chantel and Jackie had an altercation while filming. The episode featuring this scene has not aired yet. However, it is clear that some of the other ladies on the show certainly didn’t help mend the relationship. During the recent episode, Evelyn Lozada told Chantel it was a good idea to remove her mother from her life. Many fans feel Evelyn crossed a line. And she’s being a hypocrite since she doesn’t want anyone to speak on Shaniece Hairston.
Interestingly enough, fans aren’t the only ones with strong opinions. Jackie’s other daughter, Takari Lee, shared her thoughts on social media. She did so by participating in the “Who Said That?” trend.
In the video, Takari says, “So are they using the favorite daughter to recreate a storyline using your trauma? Controlling the narrative because having you come on there would be too real? Or are they trying to capture those same amount of viewers that they were getting when this show was about you? What? Who said that?”
Chantel Christie addressed the backlash on Instagram.
She also said more in an Instagram post.
Takari wrote, “Most of you all know I’ve healed and moved on from the family drama…however, if I’m asked to not speak on or about people, I expect the same respect. It’s been almost 10 years.. a lot of time and distance. So to speak on how I feel or what I went through, and I can’t even say Happy Birthday to you, is NOT going to fly. I know I’m the peasant or whatever, but don’t provoke me plz..”
Takari also posted an old screenshot from Chantel in which she defended Jackie to Takari.
Chantel responded when blogger Reality Entertainment TV reposted Takari’s posts. She first clarified that the screenshot Takari reposted was written in 2017.
She then added, “And to be very clear, I don’t need a storyline and would never purposely use my trauma as a talking point. Y’all can comment with your think pieces all you want. People that truly know me, know my story and know why things played out like they played out. Done explaining myself to a bunch of strangers that are clearly committed to misunderstanding me.”

Chantel probably needs this check y’all… I mean out of all the shows she could’ve hopped on she chose BW, girl bye I’m not believing this “Oh my mom has been a problem for me all my life” crap, only a childish spoiled grown child can say on national TV “I’m calling dad” Now that’s why Brandi speaks to Chantel like a child, oh ok!

I was thinking when did Chantel experience Takari’s childhood? It’s always been said Chantel and Doug Jr. were spoiled. Makes me think Evelyn and Shaunie orchestrated all of this and Chantel went along with it for a check.
I don’t see the purpose of Chanel being on the show either. What brand do you have other than just being on this show? Very boring

Chantel is ruining the show. Despise her! Her mother Jackie is weird and the other ladies are sick of both.
I think she is a spoiled and jealous brat, because she says that the problem she had is because Jackie did not take up for her with Brandi comments. Which i find funny, because no matter What, NO ONE COULD TALK ABOUT MY MOTHER THE WAY THE BIG THREE HAVE TALKED ABOUT JACKIE. CHANTEL WAS WAS YOU HAVING YOUR MOTHER’S BACK WHEN THAT POPPED OFF. What you have displayed this whole entire season is HATE, but you have love for the Big 3 whom are the most disrespectful 3 i have ever witnessed. Why Basketball Wives?? You took offense to Jackie wanting a sit down on her show and you thought it was a low down dirty shame, but you’re on REALITY Show Basketball wives where your Mom is the STAR. Make it make sense.
What makes me sad is how Takari referred to herself as a peasant. I’m really sad for her.
