Halle Berry joins the ranks of other celebrities who are allowing their curiosity to encourage them to dig into their family tree for answers. More and more stars are finding out who their genealogical connections, with many of them finding themselves shocked as they learn who their distant relatives are. Even President Barack Obama was shocked to learn during his 2008 Presidential bid that he is the distant cousin to President George W. Bush.
Well Halle Berry is also related to her political polar opposite. The beautiful actress was absolutely horrified when she learned that she is in fact related to former Alaska Governor and Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin.
In a video interview with Extra, she admits she is horrified to know she’s kin to Palin. She says:
“You wanna know who I’m related to? Sarah Palin!” After laughing the actress says, “That’s what I said, ‘Nooo!’ Some twisted way — somebody sent me this information that she was my distant [relative].”
In related news, Halle Berry finally reveals why she’s changed her mind about marriage. After having two failed marriages, the actress famously told Oprah in an interview that she would never marry again, but only have a baby. After having a baby with former boyfriend Gabriel Aubry, many thought Halle would potentially change her mind. But Berry’s relationship with Aubry crashed and burned, and even ignited a nasty custody battle between the two. But since her dramatic ending with Aubry, Halle has been dating French actor Oliver Martin.
The two are now said to be engaged, and Halle is even trying to get the courts to approve her and her daughter Nahla moving to London, so she can be closer to Martinez and escape the madness of the paparazzi.
Halle landed the cover of the November issue of In Style, and in the interview, she explains why she wants to get married again:
“When I first met Olivier, there wasn’t the initial ‘I’m in love!’ It was something that grew more gradually — and it feels more real because of that. [Marriage] is another one of those never-say-never things. I’m a hopeless romantic, and I won’t stop till I get it right!”
She even reveals what she loves about her current beau:
“He’s silly, a clown, and very much the life of the party, which is good for someone like me. Danny Downer … been there, done that. Now I like Louie Lightfoot!”
