Tameka Raymond made it clear after the courts ruled in Usher’s favor during the nasty custody battle that she was not giving up without a fight. And silently behind the scenes, Tameka and her attorney have been doing just that. Unhappy with the judge’s decision to grant Usher primary custody, Tameka and her attorney filed for an appeal. The appeal was not granted, but an investigation into the judge and others who have alleged relationships with certain attorneys, brought a lot of pressure on Judge Bensonetta Tipton-Lane. Tameka’s attorney claims that Tameka did not get a fair trial, especially since the judge has a friendship with Usher’s attorney. Usher’s attorney is even said to held a fundraiser for the judge a while back. And supposedly Usher knew this would be to his advantage as Tameka claims that Usher called her the night before the decision was made and confidently told her he had won and taunted her about losing her kids. The conversation is said to have been recorded by Tameka.
Well it appears the investigation has put things into Tameka’s favor. According to Atlanta blogger Straight From The A, Judge Bensonetta Tipton-Lane has stepped down from the case. By stepping down, it’s now possible that Tameka will now get a fair case and get a decision from an unbiased judge. This may also void the decision that was made a few months ago, and basically set the child custody war back to stage one.
Tameka has not said anything about her small victory, but we can imagine that she’s extremely happy to get some sort of victory out of this whole thing.
As far as Usher is concerned, nothing has been released by his camp either, but we’re sure these two will be back in court soon. We can imagine he’s not too happy about this.
