Tyler Perry is doing what he does best and keeps churning out the movies. The successful movie producer and director has a new film on the way, and this one stars singer Brandy Norwood and her rumored rival reality star Kim Kardashian. The film, entitled, Confessions of a Marriage Counselor, has already created controversy before its release because Tyler Perry decided to cast Kim Kardashian as a supporting actress in the film. This of course didn’t go over with many, as Perry is generally perceived as a positive/Christian themed movie maker, and the reality star’s image (which will forever be tied to that “video” with Ray J.), doesn’t seem to mesh well with what Tyler Perry films usually attempt to convey with fans of Perry’s work. Regardless, Perry says people will be shocked at how great Kim does in the film and he even claims he casted her before he even knew who she was. He even claims he never heard of her before the film.
Regardless, Brandy recently revealed that she is excited to be a part of the film, as it’s no secret that Brandy is starting to love acting as much as she loves singing.
The official trailer for the film was just released, and by the looks of things, it looks like there will be plenty of drama and emotional scenes by one of my favorite under the radar actresses, Jurnee Smollett.
Check out the trailer below:
The film also stars Lance Gross and Vanessa Williams. Confessions of a Marriage Counselor hits theatres on March 29.
I’ll pass. LOL.
Tyler Perry is already horrible enough, but now he adds Kim K. to the mix. I’m good on that.
This looks terrible. I love me some Jurnee Smollett though.
Smh. This looks really corny. All of Tyler Perry’s movies are about black women getting done wrong by black men. Can he not think of a more innovative plot? I’m bored with him.
Cosign. I’m all for a black man doing his thing in film, but seriously, can he not think outside the box when he thinks of plots?
This ought to be going straight to DVD.
I’m going to go see it. Can’t stand Kim, but I love Brandy, Journee, and Vanessa Williams. Tyler Perry isn’t THAT bad. At least he’s putting black actors to work. Most of them wouldn’t have work had it not of been for Tyler Perry. Let’s not be so hard on him.
thank you! *goes back to lurk mode, as usual*
Kim calls that acting? No ma’am. LOL.
How did Tyler Perry not know who Kim K. was? The bish is everywhere and has not had a seat since she made that boring tape with Ray J. She has photo ops done daily and the paps’ numbers on speed dial. My 57 year old mama knows who this heathen is. He’s lying through his teeth.
Nope. Won’t be seeing this one.
I wonder how much cooning will be done in this one…
Looks boring and very predictable!
So did the real black film producers/directors go extinct in the 90s or something?
LOL at Kim’s “acting.” You have to give to her though, she has managed to stretch her 15 mins out like no one has ever before. Kudos to her.
True but I wish she hadn’t stretched out her 15 minutes. She has nothing to offer society and I’m tired of her.
I’m probably going to see this. I try to support all the black films because it’s hard out there for s in Hollywood. IJS.
-_-. The plot looks like I’ve seen it a thousand times. Tyler Perry needs to do something fresh. He’s stale.
Kim K. and Tyler Perry? Nah.
You people should give Kim K. a chance. She is not that bad of a person. You complain that she has no talent and does nothing to be famous, but when she tries to do something like act, you have a problem with that too. Make up your minds.
That movie looks ZZZZZZZZ. LOL.
