Katt Williams’ legal troubles began to pile up late last year. The comedian was arrested several times and accused of assaulting various people, including some of his own fans and even a Target employee. While the comedian cites the media as the source of his legal issues, not only has he racked up in arrests, but he has racked up on lawsuits from people who do find him responsible for his recent troubles. Katt’s most recent incident involved weed and illegal guns being found in his home and as a result, his children were taken away from him and placed in protective custody. Katt claimed the guns were locked away and he feels weed is “not a drug.” Regardless, it was reported that the comedian could possibly face a felony charge for child endangerment.
Welp, it looks like Katt finally got some good news after months of mostly bad occurrences because he just learned that he will not be facing felony child endangerment charges after all.
According to TMZ, there just wasn’t enough evidence found in the home to suggest that the weed there belonged to Katt since there are other people living in the home and he can’t technically face felony child endangerment charges over guns if he had them locked away from his kids.
Here’s the report from TMZ:
“…the case fell apart for a couple of reasons. First, Katt insists his kids couldn’t get at the guns because they were locked up. On top of that, there were so many people living in the house there was no way of tying Katt to the marijuana — and reasonable assumptions don’t count.
So the D.A. decided not to file felony charges and referred the case to the L.A. City Attorney, which handles misdemeanors. But even the City Attorney felt the case had big problems, so Katt will appear at an informal hearing at the City Attorney’s office, where he’ll be counseled and warned.”
Good for him. Now he needs to get his sh-t together.
Best news he’s had in a while huh?
I hope Katt gets his life back in order.
