President Barack Obama is hard at work in his second term as president of the United States. While President Obama has millions of supporters across the country, and world for that matter, there are those who still can’t find it in them to show him any kind of love, his wife First Lady Michelle Obama having to deal with the same thing. Regardless of the criticism that the President and First Lady face on the regular, those who stand behind them will let people have it if they feel that they are disrespecting any member of the First Family. And the History Channel just recently caught some major heat for allegedly doing just that. On Sunday night’s airing of the channel’s popular series ‘The Bible’,  Actor Mohamen Mehdi Ouazanni portrayed the role of Satan in the episode. And people couldn’t get past the fact the actor that the channel chose to take on the role looked a whole lot like President Obama.

As expected, outrage surfaced quickly as people were highly upset at the obvious resemblance that the actor playing Satan in the series had to President Obama. After getting an angry earful about it, The HISTORY channel released a statement in response to those who think that it is no coincidence at all that the network used Ouazanni to take on the role on that episode of the series when he looks so much like our president.

The statement from the History Channel reads:

“HISTORY channel has the highest respect for President Obama. The series was produced with an international and diverse cast of respected actors. It’s unfortunate that anyone made this false connection. HISTORY’s ‘The Bible’ is meant to enlighten people on its rich stories and deep history.”

The Bible Executive Producers Mark Burnett & Roma Downey also released a statement:

“This is utter nonsense. The actor who played Satan, Mehdi Ouazanni, is a highly acclaimed Moroccan actor. He has previously played parts in several Biblical epics– including Satanic characters long before Barack Obama was elected as our President.”

“Both Mark and I have nothing but respect and love our President, who is a fellow Christian. False statements such as these are just designed as a foolish distraction to try and discredit the beauty of the story of The Bible.”

Here’s the photo of Mohamen Mehdi Ouazanni that caused the outrage:

  1. Really?! Ugh! I’m so tired of people being disrespectful to the President! If he was white, they wouldn’t have tried this. And I personally think George W. was a bigger devil than Obama is!

  2. I watched it last night and heard the story on the radio this morning… I honestly didn’t notice the striking resemblence until I looked it up. I pray that it’s not the case!

    1. Aww you want some attention you assumption making troll? You want an Internet fight. Not my style. I’ll give you the last word, I’m sure your oversized ego (oversized for absolutely no good reason) needs it. Think of your best comeback…you know, since insults are what turn you on. You’re welcome. 😉

      1. nicole didn’t leave a comment until shaniqua did? who’s the actual one looking for attention then, hm? everybody is entitled to their own opinion, so why jump on someone when their opinion differs from yours? shaniqua did no name-calling, nor did she sound even close to confrontational, yet she’s the one looking for an internet fight? please… let’s respect one another and take a moment to reflect inwardly. we’re all deserving of respect.

        1. Nice try. Use different screen names if you have to dear. Lol. But when you come on here and try to put down others for supporting Obama & ASSUME they are worshippers, you are a TROLL. Don’t talk to me about respect when you didn’t show any for the other commentators. That was unnecessary and showed your immaturity. Again, nice try. Next time at least try to make a better effort to cosign yourself on here.

        2. I wasn’t going to say anything, but your comment tlj made me reconsider. It’s interesting how you’re calling Nicole out, but you aren’t calling Shaniqua out for her original comment. How is calling the other people on the site “worshippers” of Obama okay and non-confrontational? Either you’re biased or blind here. As a believer in God, that is definitely an insult. Her comment was not mature, nor was it a valid difference in opinion. It was a shot at other people who disagree with her political beliefs. Everyone else ignored it, and Nicole should have as well. But when it comes to religious beliefs, maybe that was hard for her to do. Regardless, there have been numerous commentators on here who have expressed their issues with Obama, but they did it without insulting everyone else. That’s what adults do on here. She needs to take a page out of their book and learn how to give her views without attempting to insult and poke fun at others. Her “imagined” sense of superiority is absurd.

Anyway, all of this just confirms my comment earlier that people allow politics to make them act stupid. I see faults on both sides here. But hey, sometimes people pick and choose to see what they want.

I won’t argue on here because that’s not the kind of blog this is and I respect the people who run it. But if you’re going to call someone out for being immature/confrontational, at least be fair about it.

And I still love you Nicole, but never give people with bad intentions your attention. They aren’t worth it, ever.

          Peace.

  3. Nope Nicole, still shaniqua but thanks tlj, I guess my opinion on this sight makes me a lone troll. But others (Erica) get to bring up race and drag out the Bush thing again…! Seems kinda like selective outrage to me but that’s fine, my faith is in God and my parents who taught me to think with my brain not my skin color. Blessing to all:)

    1. I’m NOT Erica. You don’t like what she said, you reply to HER. And your response here just proves that you think you’re better than others and that you’re still assuming you know why people on here voted for Obama. Your parents should have also taught you not to stereotype people or make assumptions about strangers. That takes real intelligence though. Guess you missed that course. Smooches.

      1. Gosh Nicole, I can’t help you, this whole thing started when you singled me out as a troll because you didn’t like my opinion, but I’m the judgmental bad guy who stereotypes people. Not to mention stupid because of the auto correct on my device. Signing off now. I sincerely wish you happiness.

        1. Hey, slow/smart girl, you replied to the wrong person. So you can’t understand the difference between site and sight or hit reply to the right person! And no ma’am, that was NOT the fault of autocorrect. Autocorrect fixes misspellings, not someone’s ignorance of homophones. I typed site in my iPhone with no problems. Lol, I knew you’d use that lie. Hilarious!!!!

    2. But were you not taught the difference between sight and site (as in website)? I mean, how are you going to talk about being so smart and better than everyone else and you don’t know the difference between site/sight! I would think an “independent thinker” knows how to spell better than that. You don’t know what a homophone is? FAIL!
