Fantasia Barrino is one of the most talented singers when it comes to the R&B game, but unfortunately for Fantasia, these days her undeniable talent gets overshadowed by her personal life. According to reports, the singer got romantically involved with baby daddy Antwaun Cook while he was married. The relationship resulted in a son, and legal issues for Fantasia. Cook’s wife Paula attempting to sue Fantasia in the state of North Carolina for Alienation of Affection, and although Fantasia says she won the case because she wasn’t the only woman Antwaun had an affair with, there’s still a lot of people who just can’t look past the situation and put their focus back on her music. Fantasia is well aware of that of course, and she’s vented about it several times on her Instagram account. However, in a recent interview with Sister 2 Sister Magazine for the publication’s April issue, the singer opens up and explains where she stands now with Antwaun and also the lessons she learned from the controversial relationship.

On where she stands now with Antwaun and if the relationship made her stronger, Fantasia says:

“I am, but I will say this: me and Antwaun, as of now, we are not together. I think it’s the best thing for us all. We had to learn how to become friends again. There was so much stuff that came out. We were all hurt along the way. There’s trust issues. There’s just a lot of stuff that kinda got put in the mix. And I, at one point, I wanted to make everybody else happy. To love him, to make sure Zion was okay, to make sure everything—but I had to get to a place where I had to learn how to love Fantasia. I never did that, Jamie. And if I don’t love myself, then I can’t be in a relationship.”

When asked what Antwaun has learned from the relationship, Fantasia says:

“He’ll say, ‘I learned that you can’t play with people’s hearts.’ I think every man gets to a place of knowing that they wanna be faithful and they wanna be good fathers and good husbands and good boyfriends… Things play out for you to say, okay, it’s time for me to man up or it’s time for me to woman up. I think we both have a lot of regrets of how things just happened; it all happened so fast. I just went full-speed ahead and that’s why I was tellin’ you now. I think out everything before I do it. Everything.”

  1. Yeah, I really don’t care to keep hearing about this situation. Both Fantasia and his wife Paula both got played. Period.

  2. Is she really shocked she had trust issues with the same man that couldn’t even be faithful to his WIFE? Fanny, please have a seat.

  3. I see she got someone to use those pics she was mad Jet didn’t want to use. I can say I see why Jet wasn’t having it. LOL!

  4. SO now he’s learn now to play with people’s hearts?! Shouldn’t he have learned that BEFORE he got married?! Fail.

  5. I wonder when these R&B singers are going to learn that you can’t sleep with married men and expect your career not suffer for it. Women hate homewreckers. Alicia and Fanny’s careers will NEVER be the same now.

  6. I guess Fantasia thinks the more she talks about it, the more people will forget it happened. Not true. She should have never messed around with a married man. It really hurt her career.

  7. I think if Fantasia is claiming she’s changed and she’s moving forward, she needs to stop talking about Antwaun in her interviews. It just reminds us how foolish she is.

  8. Smh. Of course you had trust issues! The damn man is a dog! Never date a man who won’t even be faithful to his own wife & has no problems betraying his own family!

  9. So much delusion in this interview. She does need to stop talking about this. There’s no way she can make it sound less terrible.

  10. Is this the only thing people ask her about in her interviews now? How many times is she going to talk about this?
