Well that was fast. As we reported recently, Ray J. dropped a new track that was pretty much aimed at his past with former girlfriend and reality star Kim Kardashian. The song, which is entitled “I Hit It First” is the song he decided to use to take shots at Kim and Kanye, and ultimately remind Kim that he feels he is the one that made her a star. The former couple’s infamous video was pivotal in Kim launching her reality television empire, but she’s since moved on from Ray J. and is currently pregnant with Kanye’s baby. Regardless of how much Kim has moved on (she got married after Ray J., plus now has had about four public relationships since their split), it really seems like Ray J. just isn’t ready to let the situation go. Although Ray J. originally claimed that he thought the song was nothing more than a good joke at Kim and Kanye’s expense, he now appears to be backtracking from the song all together and now claiming that the song isn’t even about Kim.
Although the artwork for the single is clearly a blurred out Kim Kardashian on the beach, Ray J. claims the song is not about her. He tells Hot 97:
“It’s just a record, yo. You know what I’m saying? They’re putting a hundred on fifty. You know? It’s a song. It’s not about [Kim]. It’s about a concept, you know what I’m saying? People going way too deep. They just gotta keep it on the surface, I’m not trying to create no war. It’s all love, it’s just music. [laughs] I think people digging into it too deep. Like, it’s a song, we just having fun. We not on that, we not on ‘that’ situation. We just making music.”
When asked if he’s ran into “Kimye” yet, he says:
“Never. Yo, it’s not like that. Just bring it back to the song…It’s not a war, it’s not a diss song.”
So now that everyone is dragging him for it, the song isn’t about her. Typical Ray J. antics. Coward.
Does he expect this to become a Billboard hit? LOL.

If it’s not about Kim, why use her photo for the artwork? We all know who this was about. He just thought enough people hated Kim that he would get praised for it. As much as I don’t like Kim, I still can’t help but hate him more. Not only is he 50% of the reason she’s famous, but he actually takes pride in “putting her on.” Oh, and he has never had his own career and leaches off his sister. Smh.

Ya know, I wish Kanye was still the lyrical artist he used to be. Because I’d love nothing more than for him to chump Ray J off with a few bars (which he still might do knowing him). But like, not only was the song unnecessary, IT SUCKED!!!! The joke is on him and Kim and Kanye didn’t even have to part their lips. Karma is beautiful!
