Rapper Eve may have been gone for a minute from the rap game, but there is still no doubt that the Philly born raptress is one female that can hold her own on the mic. Eve’s debut album ‘Ruff Ryders’ First Lady’ was a classic one as far as music heads are concerned as her raw lyrics were accompanied by sounds courtesy of Swizz Beatz. After having much success as a member of the Ruff Ryders clique, Eve took a break from making music and channeled more of her attention to her love life as she started up a romance with multimillionaire Maxmillion Cooper that has been going strong for some years now, rumors even going around about Eve supposedly being pregnant by Maxmillion. During Eve’s hiatus, the female rap game has been dominated by Young Money’s leading lady Nicki Minaj, who has managed to take her career beyond the music industry.
Even though Nicki Minaj has the Barbs and Kens of the world loving her at the moment, Lil’ Kim still very much thinking Nicki jacked her style and that she is responsible for Nicki’s success, there are those from the older crowd who are longing for the days when there was more than one female rapper out that was on top, doing their thing. Lil’ Kim just announced that she has a new album on the way that is set to drop this summer. And Eve is now back at it too, the rapper looking to drop her first album in 11 years ‘Lip Lock’ this month, Eve’s fourth studio album set to be released on May 14. And she’s giving her fans a taste of what she has in store for them with her upcoming album, releasing self-titled single ‘Eve’ ft. Miss Kitty.
