The Nicki Minaj Peter Rosenberg Summer Jam beef finally squashed? Last summer, long before her beef with Mariah Carey started up, Hot 97 radio personality Peter Rosenberg got on Nicki Minaj’s bad side after he voiced his opinion about Nicki’s ‘Starships’ song, Rosenberg saying that Nicki Minaj was no longer Hip-Hop, his words followed by Nicki Minaj pulling out of the Summer Jam concert last year. And the folks over at Hot 97 had a mouthful to say about YMCMB’s move too. Knowing how the Barbz and Kens of the world get down when you come for their fave, Nicki’s fans made Rosenberg the target of their dragging sessions. Getting verbally slaughtered by Nicki’s fans didn’t move Rosenberg to take back his comments initially. But it looks like things have changed though as Nicki stopped by Hot 97 for a face-to-face with Peter Rosenberg. And they hashed out their differences on the air, things starting off with Peter offering a lengthy apology to Nicki for the things he said about her. And though Nicki says her fans still can’t stand him, she is over everything but does regret not performing at Summer Jam and letting fans down:

“That’s cool…It’s water under the bridge. I mean, yeah, it’s so long ago, I can’t even act like I care anymore. Like, I don’t care. I really don’t. But, I appreciate you guys having me…(The Barbz), they don’t like you at all. They hate you…You know, this is the thing, in hindsight, I should’ve just did the show because I’ve never allowed that to make me let my fans down. And even if it wasn’t a Nicki Minaj fan, just a fan in general, somebody that was there who paid to see the show, I think in hindsight, I should have just came out because it’s my hometown, especially. And you know, they shouldn’t have been brought into whatever we were going through. And so, I wish I would’ve come out and did the show and I apologize for not coming out and doing the show because they had nothing to do with that. You know what I mean? That’s what I thought about. A whole bunch of people were punished for something that they knew nothing about, something that they couldn’t control…”

And then she went in on Rosenberg, Nicki telling him that she didn’t understand how he could come for her the way he did with the kind of résumé  that he has:

“You know what, I get it, that’s what you do. But I guess to me, I just don’t know your résumé. I never found you funny, I never found you entertaining, I never found you smart, I just found you annoying because, you know, I grew up in New York, well, I’ve grown up on Hot 97. I know Angie and I know Flex and Mister Cee and all these people and whether they like me or whether or not we get along, I just know their résumé. So that’s why it was so easy for me to pick up the phone and talk to Flex like, ‘What the f*ck are you talking about?’ But like with you, I was like, ‘Who are you?’ To me, you don’t have enough of a résumé to make those comments. But you know, you did, and it is what it is. For whatever reason, our paths were meant to cross like that so it’s over.”

    1. There is no way she should have performed. Rosenberg was dead wrong and the station was wrong for supporting him. Pulling out was the right thing to do.

  1. Yea I agree with Nicki but what I can’t understand why Hot97 would disrespect someone who is suppose to be their headliner for summer jam. If you don’t like Nicki and her music why have her on summer jam I still put most of the blame on Hot97.

  2. Hot 97 was wrong but she should have sucked it up & showed up for her fans. Hell Bey just got slapped on the booty, but she checked ole boy and kept the show going. That’s what pros do.

  3. I see both sides. Yeah it was disrespectful but fans come first. They were hurt by her not showing up.

  4. #TeamNicki!!!! They were wrong! You don’t disrespect the Headliner! I’m glad she pulled out, it’s all about respect.

  5. Its funny when people say who are you and what have you done. She act as though she has done so much for the world. She is nothing more than a zombie feeding off of the market of selling your soul for the money and the so called fame. She is only important to herself and the people foolish enough to support her brand of talentlessness. One day she will relaize that she is nothing more than a mere human. Material things doesnt make you any more or less important than the next person.
