Rapper J. Cole’s new album dropped on June 18 with Kanye’s controversial album “Yeezus,” and thanks to his idea to drop the album on the same day as ‘Ye, it looks as if J. Cole’s first week sales will be pretty solid. The up and coming rapper who also happens to be a product of Roc Nation, understands more than anyone at this point of his career how important his fan base is. What seemed like a regular day on Twitter for J. Cole turned crazy with just one tweet.

While promoting his new album “Born Sinner,” J. Cole was tweeted by a fan who demanded the rapper retweeted him. The fan also claimed if he didn’t retweet, he would kill his little sister. And if J. Cole did retweet, the fan claimed they would buy multiple copies of the album. The bizarre man also attached a photo of him pointing a gun in the face of a little girl:

J. Cole retweeted the fan’s tweet, and in exchange for the tweet the fan went out and bought several copies of the artist’s album as promised. Of course the young man caught a lot of flak for his over the top antics, and eventually before changing the name to his Twitter account, he told his critics it was just one big joke and the gun was actually just a BB gun:

“My Twitter is broken now bruh this sh*t is crazy … You gotta see these mentions … n*ggas ripping me apart,” he tweeted. “It’s a BB gun with no ammo. N*ggas just wanna be fake mad at something.”

Twitter is a scary place.

In related news, J. Cole went on a little bit of a Twitter rant last night. He basically complained about how things such as music critics and the focus on projected album sales is killing Hip Hop:

Projections f*cking up hip hop

First week tally’s f*ckin up hip hop

Your 1 listen reviews are f*cking up hip hop.

To keep it real, your whole publication is f*ckin up hip hop.

Drake saving hip hop Hov Saving hip hop. Chance the rapper saving hip hop. k. Dot saving hip hop. Ab-soul saving hip hop.

And more important than them n*ggas. The PEOPLE are saving hip hop. You n*ggas are Critics. Not fans. F*ck critics. The people decide

  1. If that was my son, I would be still whopin his a$$ for posting that BS to twitter. In fact, someone needs to not just whoop his a$$ but his parents needs their a$$es whooped too.

    1. Lets not jump overboard and blame the parents because half the time parents dont even pay attention to their kids social sites like they need too. Im a single parent of a son, I teach him all POSITIVE things but if he decides to act a FOOL once outside my house then dont call me looking for bond money!

  2. I hope someone called the police on that idiot. BB Gun or not, you don’t put a gun in a child’s face.

  3. Stupid people never cease to amaze me. Anyway, his new album is very good. Barbee, you were right boo.

  4. Why didn’t anyone call the police? He needs to be investigated. Especially if he thinks what he did was funny and people were overreacting.

  5. This pisses me off to no end!! I don’t care if its a BB gun, yo don’t point them at children!!! I hope his parents sees this…
