The Dwight Howard Shaq beef continues. Dwight Howard had Los Angeles Lakers fans on pins and needles as they awaited to learn his fate with the NBA franchise. In the end, Howard would make the move many suspected, and he confirmed he is leaving Kobe Bryant and the rest of the Lakers team behind to pursue his future with the Houston Rockets. The decision of course has made Lakers fans furious, and they have already created a new moniker for the NBA star, “Dwight Coward.” Kobe Bryant hasn’t said a whole lot about Dwight’s decision to leave just yet, but Kobe made headlines when it was confirmed he unfollowed Dwight on Twitter just moments after he made his announcement. Welp, it looks like Kobe isn’t the only NBA star who isn’t impressed with Dwight’s decision to jump ship and head over to Houston. According to reports, Shaquille O’Neal had a few words for Dwight Howard too. And in Shaq’s opinion, Dwight never had what it took to be on the team in the first place. He tells reporters at the Daytona International Speedway on Saturday:

“It was expected. We’ve all been in L. A., and not a whole lot of people can handle being under the bright lights. Everybody wants to do it, but when you get there, there are certain pressures. I think it was a safe move for him to go to a little town like Houston. That’s right, little town. I said it.”

This isn’t the first time Shaq has thrown some jabs Dwight’s way, in fact sports insiders claim he’s never been thrilled some people compare Howard to him. So perhaps this was his way of highlighting their differences? Either way, the shade was pretty thick.

  1. LOL! I love me some damn Shaq! He gives no f-cks and will tell the truth when he damn well feels like it!

  2. I don’t even like Dwight but Shaq is trippin the Lakers don’t have anything going for them Kobe is hurt and old. Steve Nash is old. The Lakers wouldn’t bring Phil Jackson back so all this ish Shaq talking is really nonsense. Furthermore I don’t appreciate him trying to shade H-town because he gotta personal vendetta against Dwight loser!!!!!!

  3. Read him Shaq. Dwight will go to Houston and still get no championship ring. He left because he doesn’t have heart. Never did.

  4. I could understand why LeBron left Cleveland, but Dwight is no LeBron. He’s pretty lazy and immature and he wasn’t a fit for LA in the first place. LA needs to rebuild and they need people who can handle the pressure. That wasn’t Dwight.

  5. Shaq said the truth. Dwight was out of his league. I don’t think he will get a ring in Houston either. There’s something abut him that seems to be okay with doing the bare minimum.Even Gasol has more heart than him. #shrugs

  6. Until the Lakers get back Phil Jackson, no one is going to want to deal with Kobe and lose with the now sorry Lakers. Had they hired Phil like Dwight asked, he wouldn’t have left. He’s not soft, he just sees it for what it is. The Lakers are done.

  7. Hold up Shaq, don’t drag my city. Dwight may or may not get a ring ( really don’t care) but don’t talk about Houston.
