Lauryn Hill prison update? Lauryn Hill might be a legend when it comes to the R&B game, but the IRS didn’t seem to care too much about her amazing contributions to music when it made sure she got slapped with some charges as a result of not paying her taxes. The singer wanted to avoid jail time and even inked a deal with Sony Entertainment to get the cash necessary to pay off her tax bill, but in the end it didn’t save her from having to serve time in prison. Lauryn made it clear in a recent letter penned to fans before embarking on her sentence she thought it was unfair she was being sent to prison, and now it appears she’s sending yet another message to her supporters from behind bars. Despite her disappointment with having to serve time, Lauryn seems to be doing well in prison. She had someone in her camp post the following message on how she’s adjusting to her Tumblr blog:
“I have known since very young to look for the purpose and lesson in everything, including the trials. Although it has taken some adjustment, I cannot deny the favor I have encountered while in here, and general warm reception from a community of people who despite their circumstances, have found unique ways to make the best of them. Thank you for the letters of concern and well wishes that I receive in the mail every day. Although I may not be able to write everyone back, please know that they have been received, read, acknowledged, and appreciated.”

I miss the old Lauryn.
I hope Lauryn is able to find peace and get back to make the music we all need to hear. That Miseducation album is a classic.

I hope this stint behind bars clears her head so she can make great music again.
I still play “Miseducation” to this day but that Lauryn is long gone.
I am just going to blame Rohan and Wyclef for all of this. They broke this woman down.
