J. Cole’s “Born Sinner” album to take over number one spot on Billboard 200 chart next week? J. Cole’s “Born Sinner” album has continued to create a tremendous amount of buzz around the Roc Nation rap star as music heads feel the rapper’s latest project is a reflection of real Hip-Hop. While “Born Sinner” managed to pull in some impressive numbers in sales its first week out, a crazy incident involving a fan happened while the rapper was promoting his album on Twitter as the fan tweeted J. Cole and demanded the rapper retweet or he would kill his little sister. The fan even went as far as posting a photo of himself waving a gun in his sister’s face. Aside from the ridiculous stunt his fan pulled that prompted a police investigation, J. Cole’s new album is steadily moving up the charts and still getting rave reviews. In fact, “Born Sinner” is predicted to take over the number one spot on the Billboard 200 chart next week, according to a report from Billboard:
It’s not often that an album climbs to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, but that’s just what might happen next week.
J. Cole’s “Born Sinner,” which debuted at No. 2 a week ago, looks like it should take the throne next Wednesday. Industry sources suggest the album, which spent a second week in the runner-up slot this week, may sell around 60,000 copies by the end of the tracking week on Sunday, July 7.
That figure should be enough to fend off the week’s new releases, which include titles by R&B singer Joe and pop/rock band Relient K, as well as the new Hillsong live album, “Glorious Ruins.”
The Billboard 200 chart’s top 10 will be revealed next Wednesday morning on July 10th.
