Rapper Talib Kweli Joins Movement to Boycott Florida

The rappers boycott Florida list now includes Rapper Talib Kweli? The boycott of Florida started shortly after the verdict from the Trayvon Martin murder trial was revealed. And not only are consumers around the country participating in the protest against the state,various entertainers have made it a point to do their part in it as well. Stevie Wonder got the ball rolling with the announcement he made to his fans as he let them know he would no longer be putting on shows in Florida due to their “Stand Your Ground” law. Sisters Tina and Erica Campbell of the gospel group Mary Mary and Chaka Khan joined aboard the movement right after Stevie.

And although Ron Isley won’t be joining the boycott right away, the singer said after his fall performance he will be fully participating in the movement and plans to give all of the proceeds from his show to Trayvon’s family. Numerous rappers have spoken out on the Trayvon Martin case and dedicated songs to the slain teen. And now Rapper Talib Kweli, who is known to be very socially conscious, has joined the protest against Florida. Hot New Hip Hop reports:

Talib Kweli is among artists and public figures who have joined “Stand Your Ground Protest”.

Veteran rapper Talib Kweli joined the ongoing sit-in protests at the Florida Capitol. Now in its fourth week, protesters have occupied the state house demanding Governor Rick Scott call a special session of the state legislature to address concerns about the Stand Your Ground law that gained national attention after the killing of Trayvon Martin last year.
