Tia Mowry and Cory Hardrict didn’t kiss or get intimate their first year of dating? Tia and Tamera Mowry have managed to not end up down the usual road for former child stars. We don’t hear about either of the twin sisters doing drugs or racking up in legal problems; and instead we’ve watched both still secure work as actresses and even land their own successful reality show that doesn’t rely on them acting ratchet for ratings. Both have also added being wives to their now very extensive resumes, and neither mind opening up a little about their not so popular experiences to dating and eventually getting married. In an era where lots of women are becoming more free with their dating habits and stepping outside of traditional approaches, Tia recalls vividly just why she decided to go a full year without as much as even kissing her now husband Cory Hardrict. According to Tia, she wanted to be sure she actually courted her husband before they became physical. She even says they didn’t go out on dates alone during this time and it’s because it was important for them to establish something real before they became intimate. She tells reporters during the press rounds for her new film “Baggage Claim” when asked what’s the craziest thing she’s done for love:

“I think the one thing I did do was I just held out. We weren’t physical, we didn’t do anything for a while to make sure this was something special and this was something real. That’s what we did. And also my husband…we courted each other for about a year. We didn’t go on dates with just him and I, there were other people around. We waited a year to kiss. That’s basically what I did.”

But Tia also made it clear that waiting a year doesn’t mean they don’t take risks now in the bedroom:

“We’ve been together for 14 years and we had a baby and it changes the dynamic of a relationship a little bit. I do believe you have to keep it alive and fresh and I did take up a burlesque dance among other things. And there’s this thing called the v-steam, which is a steam for your va-jay-jay and let’s just say my husband said it worked.”

    1. It’s not impossible if you have a man willing to commit to what you’re trying to do. They’re out there. LOL.

        1. Remember, prayer works! It’s crazy but we pray about everything EXCEPT for our love lives. Pray for a man, like you do for good health, a job, house, etc. God answers prayers.

      1. Girl don’t get us started on here today about men and dating. It will become a hot mess in matter of minutes ok? lol

  1. He’s a good dude if he waited and wasn’t out here sleeping with some busted down chick on the side.

  2. Newsflash: Most men will not hang around and wait for a woman to give it up! This just isn’t realistic advice!

      1. Agreed! My husband and I waited for almost a year. I made everybody wait… BUT that was because I was married once before and with my first husband we waited about two weeks before we were intimate and we’re married about six months after that. Everything was on fast forward. Once we were married we realized we didn’t know each other half as well as we thought and ended up breaking up to try and date and start over; but once we broke apart we realized we didn’t want to be together at all. After him I made everybody wait because I want to make sure me and that person were on the same page. My husband and I waited and we are seven years strong in our marriage and have spent nine years of our lives together. We’ve seen so many couples fall apart around us and it’s sad, but it’s mainly because they both have different of ideas of what they want in their relationships and in life. Pop-corn relationships don’t ever stand the test of time.

  3. Tia has me sitting over here jealous. Not only is her husband fine, but he’s a good man. I’m just waiting on mine.

  4. I think people should court for a least a year before they have sex. You should make sure you know the person well before you commit to them physically. That’s just what I think though.

  5. I didn’t know they were together for 14 years. Wow, I’m happy for her ^_^. I think that’s good advice to give to young women who are dating, however, when a (good) man really wants to be with you then I honestly don’t think that matters. Sometimes it’s just hard to tell if a man is pretending to be good man vs being actually a good one, so waiting to become intimate may help. Honestly I just waited until I felt I was ready with my current bf (tmi, I know) but I don’t regret it & wouldn’t change my decision.
