Rapper Drake just released his latest album “Nothing Was the Same” on September 24, and although the rapper has revealed his ultimate career goal is to surpass Kanye West, Drake’s managed to make quite a name for himself already as he managed to keep going platinum in a music industry plagued with terrible album sales. But when Drake isn’t dishing out the details of his past love lives involving Rihanna and Tyra Banks or squashing his very controversial beef with Chris Brown; he’s actually talking about what he is looking for in his personal life. Drake may have dated other celebs in the past and even been open with his fondness to “video vixens,” but it turns out his real desire is to end up with a very different kind of woman.

In a recent interview with E! News, Drake revealed that he actually wants to end up with a girl who attended college and has “unique goals” such as starting her own business:

“I need somebody funny, I need somebody driven. I like unique goals. You know, you talk to a lot of girls and they’re like ‘oh modeling, acting.’ I like to hear about school, I like to hear about wanting to be a business owner…in my world that’s unique.”

This isn’t the first time Drake has shown love for women who have value school, he also praised them in his very popular single, “Fancy.” Of course Drake also talked about his new album and explained why he’s so excited about it:

“I feel like ‘Take Care’ had real ballads, real down moments, and I feel like on this album, I try to push everything together to make it strong. It’s great. It’s one of my favorite pieces. It’s concise. I’m really proud of the writing on there. And 40 [Noah Shebib] outworked me on the production, he’s amazing. It’s good, I’m excited.”

In related news, Drake also spoke a little more on where he stands with Kendrick Lamar post the “Control” verse. Drake tells Power 106 that at this point, he doesn’t want to collaborate with Kendrick and he doesn’t think the other rappers who were named in the verse want to either:

“I’ve thought of doing that before. I thought ‘man it would be crazy if I just went off on everybody. Then everytime I rap, people are going to expect me to be confrontational– then when I’m not it’s not entertaining. It kind of puts you in a box, a little bit.

“He’ll be alright, even if [his next album] doesn’t feature any of the names he mentioned, which it probably won’t.”

Drake then goes on to say he doesn’t want to collaborate with Kendrick again at this point:

“Yeah, I’m good right now. I’m not like ‘let’s work’–nah, not really… I’m really just focused on me, and OVO, and my side of things. I’m not really into doing a record with him now.”

  1. One, I’m glad to hear he has an interest and being with a woman who has substance. That’s rare in Hip Hop. Two, he’s wrong for taking that verse so seriously. Hip Hop is about diss tracks and battles. These young rappers are way too sensitive.

  2. Now after Drake been ho’ing around and falling in love with strippers and ho’s he want us college girls now typical. In true SIMP form Drake won’t collaborate w/ Kendrick Lamar because of control lol if Drake was confident in his craft he wouldn’t care. Drake has b-tch tendencies seriously lol.

  3. Drake actually makes a good point. When you come in the game going off on people, most people won’t want to work with you. I like Kendrick, but I do wonder if he may have killed his career with that verse. Only time will tell though.

    1. That’s not Hip Hop though. Kendrick didn’t say F everybody. He said step your bars up. Stop rapping about all your money, cars and hoes and bring it! And that’s what the game needs. Drake is a b-tch for this.

  4. Drake couldn’t handle Kendrick anyway. Every song they have done together I have totally forgotten about Drake’s verse.

  5. So now Drake wants a college girl? Chile please. I don’t even think he can handle a woman that has her sh-t together. That’s not what he’s accustomed to. Anyway, Kendrick didn’t hurt his career. If anything, he just proved who has the heart for Hip Hop and who doesn’t. Drake is soft.

  6. I don’t see anything wrong with his comments on the type of girl he wants… Maybe my opinion is bias because I like Drake! But I’m finishing up college and I use to go for the typical “bad boy” but I’ve matured and that’s no longer the type of guy I want to settle with…. So who cares if he use to like hoes or whatever….

On the Kendrick comments, umm I agree/disagree… I get what he’s saying that other artist may not want to work with Kendrick after ‘Control’ but those are the weak artist that can’t step up to the challenge and compete… I expected more than this from Drake =

  7. So he goes on the radio and basically tells women who to pretend to be to gain his interest/bank account. He probably should have just kept his mouth shut on both topics.
