Drake talks about Degrassi and claps back at fashion critics in interview? Drake has plenty to be happy about at the moment as the Young Money rap star just dropped his new album “Nothing Was the Same” and already his latest project is slaying in sales. Drake’s new album is even projected to beat out Kanye West’s “Yeezus” album’s first week sales as NWTS is predicted to sell over 675,000 copies in addition to securing a top spot on the Billboard 200 chart. Drake’s musical accomplishment isn’t the only thing the rapper recently made headlines for as he finally squashed his beef with Chris Brown. It’s pretty safe to say many people enjoy what Drake can do in the studio. But he does tend to get criticized for his choices in fashion, specifically the infamous Dada outfit the rapper rocked at this year’s Billboard Music Awards as Drake’s getup fueled numerous memes on Instagram.
In part 3 of his interview with CRWN, Drake addressed the flak he catches for his style of dress and previous role on popular Canadian TV show “Degrassi.” Drake says he doesn’t strive to look like any other artist and could care less what people have to say about his image:
“I don’t want to look like these other guys. It’s just not that serious. It could be way worse, I could be in real trouble. Yep, I was on Degrassi. Yes, I wear sweaters. Yes, I wore a throwback Dada outfit and it was crazy. Yes, I did it. I don’t give a f*ck. This is my life.”
Drake also spoke on his feelings about Twitter and says people take the social media platform too seriously. Although Drake doesn’t live his life through Twitter, the rapper admits he does do a little subtweeting from time to time:
“Twitter isn’t real by the way. There’s no gauge on real life on twitter. That’s a terrible medium to exist in. You can enjoy it, you can even indulge in it, just don’t live your life by that weird code.
“I do subtweet sometimes though.”

I appreciate Drake. Not every rapper needs to have that tired thug image.
Agreed!
Loving the new album.
Lol tell em Drake.
Lol at him admitting he subtweets.
I might talk about Drake all in fun lol but one thing I give Drake aside from being very talented he seems so secure in himself. He never lets his critics get the best of him like some of his fellow musicians.
Agreed. I really respect him for. It letting people get to him too.
I like Drake. He doesn’t try to pretend he’s something he’s not to sell records. Gotta respect that.
Good for you Drake. It’s refreshing to see someone not care what anyone else thinks about you and actually be authentic with it. People are way too obsessed with how other people view them or so pressed to pretend to be “hard” or “bad” or “not give a f-ck” when they really do. It’s sad.
I like that Drake does his own thing.
