Drake is clearly one of the leading artists of today’s Hip Hop game, and the rapper has managed to become a star on Young Money Records thanks to his ability to sell lots of albums in a music industry that has seen a huge slump in album sales as of late. His latest album “Nothing Was the Same” is expected to sell around 670,000 copies in its first week, and Drake is quite proud that he can pull those kinds of numbers and not resort to faking a thug image like he feels some of his peers feel pressured to do. While promoting his new album, Drake has been pretty open and honest in his latest interviews, and he even recently revealed the issue he has about Twitter. He tells CRWN:
“Twitter isn’t real by the way. There’s no gauge on real life on twitter. That’s a terrible medium to exist in. You can enjoy it, you can even indulge in it, just don’t live your life by that weird code.
“I do subtweet sometimes though.”
Drake even revealed he was highly disturbed when he was bullied by a 13-year-old on the popular social media platform. He says:
“When it stopped being real to me was on my mom’s birthday. I’ll never forget. It was all these people being like, ‘Happy birthday to your mom.’ And then, I saw some guy be like, ‘Yo, I hope your mom dies in a car crash tonight.’ I was just like, ‘Why am I reading this? What is going on? Who is this guy?’
“Obviously, I just went to his page because I was just like, ‘F*ck him.’ Obviously, he just had a Tyler, the Creator sweater on. He was just 13 years old, just jerking off to Grand Theft Auto and sh*t. I just encourage you to live your life and be great.”
LOL. Drake is funny to me. So brutally honest.
I agree. I like him just because he is so honest.
Only Drake would admit something like this.
lol exactly.
Yeah people are so harsh on Twitter. I guess it gave people the courage they don’t have in real life. I couldn’t tweet half of the stuff I see people tweet to celebs. Just cruel.
That little boy needs a whooping!
Agreed!
LOL.
Hilarious and sad at the same time.
It’s called trolling Drake and of course your emo a-s got your feelings hurt by it.
Sorry, I think he has a right to be offended if someone wished his mother death. I’m sure you’d feel the same way if it was your mom.
Really though? People tweet the most messed up things to celebs. I couldn’t take it. I think I’d be like Beyonce and don’t even tweet. I can only imagine how her mentions look everyday.
That little boy shouldn’t even be on Twitter. WTF?
THIS is why I’m a strong proponent of beating kids. lol! That boy needs his a-s whipped!
