Music News: Nicki Minaj Previews New Clothing Line, Sevyn Streeter Confirms Release Date for Album

Nicki Minaj Kmart Collection modeled by rapper during photo shoot? Nicki Minaj is on top of the female rap game at the moment as she claimed one of the top spots on Forbes “Hip-Hop’s Top Earners” list this year. And the Head Barbie is continuing to do everything in her power to ensure that she holds on to her top spot as she has ventured out of the music world to find ways to make money. After taking on cosmetics, Nicki decided to try her hand at fashion by releasing a her own clothing line through Kmart. The news of Nicki’s new fashion line did raise some eyebrows as the rapper’s unique taste in fashion has been criticized in the past. But she assured consumers her clothing line wouldn’t be filled with “crazy stuff.”

Nicki says:

“I definitely didn’t want people to think ‘She’s only going to have crazy stuff on her line.’ That would push them away. I want them to know ‘No, no, no, no.’ I’m doing this for women in general to feel beautiful and sexy. Any woman can wear it and feel confident.”

Nicki’s collection features various styles of dresses, jeans, tops, hoodies, accessories and much more. And to prove to her fans she isn’t just trying to sell them something she wouldn’t wear herself, Nicki is captured in a video clip strutting her stuff in select items from her clothing line during a photo shoot.

In more music news, R&B newbie Sevyn Streeter has been doing her thing with songwriting as she has teamed up with some big names in the industry including Chris Brown and Alicia Keys. And now the young singer is preparing to release her very first EP titled “Call Me Crazy, But…”

Sevyn’s project is set to be available on iTunes on November 5th and will include her hit single “I Like It” and “It Won’t Stop” featuring Chris Brown. In addition to the new EP she has on the way, Sevyn will also be joining K. Michelle on November 4th for the “Rebellious Soul” tour presented by BET Music Matters. Sevyn performed her singles “I Like It” and “It Won’t Stop” for Rap-Up sessions.
