There’s been a lot of conflicting reports surrounding Beyonce’s upcoming studio album and her fans whom she affectionately refers to as the “BeyHive” have been waiting something serious on some kind of information on her fifth album. However, recently it was reported that Beyonce had finished recording the album and it was rumored that the first single had also been decided on. Fans were also thrilled to learn the singer has been spotted shooting music videos for the last several weeks. However, Beyonce has been mum herself on the status of her upcoming album and now a new report from the New York Daily News is claiming that Beyonce plans to drop her first single in early December because she wants some good old competition with Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Miley Cyrus. A source tells the publication:

“Many in the music industry have gotten intel that Beyoncé will put out a single in the fourth quarter, some time from late November to early December. It’s an official single and it’s timed perfectly to push out all the others. It will be out before the end of the year.

“There is a noticeable hole in Columbia Records’ Q4 release schedule and it’s going to be Beyoncé’s release.”

The source goes on to say that Beyonce isn’t afraid of the competition and is actually looking forward to competing with some of the leading ladies of Pop. Britney is expected to drop an album around the same time and it’s also been said that Mariah Carey will also release new music in November. Regardless, Beyonce’s rep is still saying that no dates have been decided on as of yet. But we’re starting to think Beyonce will drop new music before the year is over, that’s the only way we can make sense of her shooting music videos for the last several weeks while touring.

  1. Well whenever she does drop new music, I will be ready. I have been waiting forever. I need some new music Bey.

  2. This is a risky move. Usually she drops music when no one big is dropping anything. She better hope it doesn’t backfire on her. She’s not the biggest name in music anymore.
