The death of Adrian Peterson’s two-year-old son was a shocker, and immediately after the news spread that he was severely beaten by his mother’s boyfriend, many began to take to social media to show their support to the NFL star. The child eventually passed away not too long after being put on life support, and it was later confirmed by police that the child’s alleged attacker had only been dating the child’s mother for a short time before moving in. Adrian asked for privacy during the whole ordeal, but he ended up the target of backlash after he revealed that he planned to play football the weekend after the child’s death.

And if that wasn’t enough, one of his baby mamas came forward recently and put him on blast and claimed he wasn’t really involved in the lives of the other children that he fathered. And then of course another woman came forward and claimed she just had a baby with the athlete three months ago. The athlete has been mum on the accusations for the most part, but there’s a new development in the situation. According to the Associated Press via ABC News, the child’s alleged killer Joseph Patterson has now been charged with second degree murder and manslaughter.

Patterson is expected to be arraigned later this week, and he was indicted by a grand jury on Friday. Initially he was charged with aggravated assault and aggravated battery, but it was decided additional charges should be filed after the child passed away from his injuries.

  1. I still don’t understand how someone could do this to a child or even a woman for that matter. It’s some crazy people in this world.

  2. My hope is that Adrian Peterson’s celebrity status puts a spotlight on why it is so important to be aware who you are leaving your children with. Hopefully, he never sees the outside of a jail again.
