Floyd Mayweather domestic violence accusations denied by boxer? Floyd Mayweather might be known for his talent in boxing, but people also talk about his pretty interesting personal life just as much as his skills in the ring. The boxer has made it clear in past interviews that he believes he has the right to sleep with multiple women despite being engaged to Shantel Jackson, but Shantel cosigned his beliefs and says she doesn’t mind him having other women on the side. But one woman who does find it pathetic that Shantel has agreed to be cool with her fiancé’s knack for having so many women on the side is his baby mama Josie Harris. And he has a very strained relationship with Josie.

Josie accused the boxer of assaulting her and he was sentenced to 90 days in jail for misdemeanor battery assault in 2011. Despite pleading guilty to the charge, the boxer tells Sister 2 Sister Magazine that he is not a woman beater and he only restrained Josie from hitting him. He also claims she was acting crazy because she was allegedly drunk and on drugs at the time:

“Okay, I just want to say, what I do for a living, I’m in a contact sport, right? And if they say someone had bodily harm done to ‘em, since I’m already a fighter, before even giving me a chance, they’re going to say. “He’s guilty.” Now, restraining a woman that’s on drugs and alcohol, have I ever done that? Yes, from going crazy.

“Holding them like, “Relax. You’ve been drinking. You’re not 100 percent coherent. Relax.” You know, to where they say, “Okay, he’s kicked and beat a woman,” but we’ve yet to have proof. Of course if Floyd Mayweather has brutally beaten a woman, you’re going to show pictures. And like I always say, no disrespect to the Simpson family, but you’ve seen OJ and Nicole. No disrespect to Chris Brown and Rihanna, but you’ve seen Rihanna. But you’ve yet to see pictures of Floyd Mayweather and a battered woman. And the thing is, if I’m beating all these women, why do so many women find me interesting and want to be within my circle?”

Josie still maintains that Floyd attacked her.

    1. He plead guilty because it was the best deal he could get. Had Mayweather not pleaded guilty, he would have likely faced a felony trial the next year. The Judge was expected to send Mayweather to trial on felony grand larceny, coercion and robbery charges, and misdemeanor domestic battery and harassment counts. That’s how they do, throw a bunch of crap on the wall and see what sticks. The most logical outcome was the guilty plea. It was the best way to keep from getting railroaded. If either of us were in that same situation we would have plead guilty too.

  1. Then he should have pled not guilty then, right? Then just maybe people wouldn’t think he is abusive towards women.

    1. It’s WAY more to this than just pleading not guilty. If you understood all of the particulars and were in his shoes financially and career wise you would have plead guilty as well, in a heartbeat.

    2. It’s clear that he is only pleading guilty so that he won’t have to face trumped up Felony Charges of felony grand larceny (taking her car, which he probably paid for ironically), coercion (trying to not involve the cops), and robbery charges (taking her cell phone), and misdemeanor domestic battery and harassment counts (seems the most minor of all the counts), where if things go wrong he could do some serious time. This is lawyer stuff 101, why take a chance? If his crimes were serious they would not be reduced to…and I quote, “Reduced Misdemeanor Charges ” Reduced charges that also include the misdemeanor battery charge that he faced for poking a 21-year-old security guard in the face. Sounds like a good decision to me with very little risk. Why would you do any different?

    1. You can say a lot of things about Floyd that may be true… but overrated? Nah… never. In fact, Floyd is probably underrated. Undefeated after 17 years in 5 different weight divisions is nothing to sneeze at.

    2. Who should he have fought that he didn’t because he didn’t want to fight them? Who is he ducking currently?
