Teyana Taylor’s rep has a lot of explaining to do. As we reported recently, it was rumored on social media that Teyana’s latest sneaker (Harlem GLC: “Dark Knight”) would not be released because she had been quietly dropped from Adidas over her very nasty and public Twitter beef with Rihanna. After Teyana decided it would be a good move to post a photo of Rihanna’s battered face to her Twitter profile and make threats of causing her more injuries than Chris did, Rihanna’s supporters came together and launched an online petition pushing the shoe company to drop Taylor.

A couple of days later, Teyana’s rep denied the artist had been dropped, but now it appears that Adidas has decided to set the record straight. A rep from the company confirms to Madame Noire that Teyana has been dropped and it is because of  the Rihanna feud. The rep says:

“We have ended our relationship with Teyana Taylor and do not have any upcoming product launches with her.

“All I can say is that adidas partners with athletes and artists who blend well with our brand values. We evaluate our relationships with partners based on the values we hold at adidas and we don’t condone violence of any kind.”

Teyana Taylor took to her Twitter account to clap back at the news and decided to let her critics know she had the fastest selling Adidas shoe of all time:

Hey haters, imma let yall finish but I had the fastest sellin adidas of all time. #HandsMicBack&WalksOffStage #Kanyeshrug #ImSleepTho

And that’s my statement you guys have a nice day!!!!!

& I did it without a album. #MeekVoice

Kanye has since signed with Adidas reportedly for a whopping $10 million to create a line of shoes.

In related news, Nike has been getting dragged by Kanye publicly for the last week or so, but they confirmed earlier today that they have a new superstar taking his spot.

Drake is now the new spokesperson for the Air Jordan line. On the new deal, Drake says in an official statement:

“Today also happens to be one of the best days of my life. You know, growing up, I’m sure we all idolized this guy – he goes by the name of Michael Jordan. So today, I came to Portland, Oregon and I officially became inducted into the Team Jordan family.”

Congrats to Drizzy.

  1. Does Teyana not understand that those crusty Adidas shoes she had is the only little bit of success she will ever have? The music thing won’t ever happen, and neither will the acting thing. And after that little stunt, no one will want to collaborate with her because Rih is the queen. Teyana you’re officially a bum and you’re finished. Smarten up next time.

  2. Teyana go ahead and shed some tears, I know you want to. The Navy has finished you off and now no one will be calling you again. LOL!

  3. Oh man. I feel bad for Teyana but hopefully she will have even bigger opportunities. I honestly feel like both ladies were wrong in this situation but only one got punished. That’s unfair.

    1. Cosign. But it just wasn’t a good look of her to post that picture of Rihanna’s face. That was too much. She lost her endorsement because of it and probably other opportunities too.

    1. Careful of the toes you step upon, not saying Rihanna was right but Teyana Taylor’s photo post went a bit far. People should know how the game works.

      1. Did anyone realize the picture of rihanna’s “battered face” why did she not have any swelling? If the supposed picture was taken the same day at the hospital? Why are her injuries different in that picture Teyana posted than the picture TMZ posted? Why was her all bruised “black eye” not really swollen and on her right side? How are you beat in a car but have the main bruise on the right side and not your left and have absolutely no swelling? That is a bit odd to me, considering reports said Chris had a ring on his finger. Also, how could she be put in the headlocks and be bitten in a car, if she had her seat belt on?

  4. Congrats Drake this is a good for him. No matter how much Kanye complains Adidas will never be as big as Nike. I wish nothing but the best for Teyana one door closes another door will open. Rihanna delusional stans got exactly what they wanted smh.

    1. And Drake will never get royalties. hate on Kanye all you want, but he has a point. when an actor does tv shows they get a cheque for re-runs. when a song writer writes a song they get royalties everytime the song is play on radio, tv or any production. so why is Kanye wrong for asking for royalties when they give it to the sports player. he’s designing the shoes. he not just lending his name. Black folks needs to start wise up to the game. the only people i see that is crazy are the one who hate on him for cursing out Nike. Nike was started by a jew they will pimp you if you allowed them to. look at all those black artist from back in the day end up broke even when they wrote the songs the label took the royalties.

      1. I’m not hating on Kanye and maybe Drake doesn’t mind not getting royalties maybe he is using this as a stepping stone for something better. You just never know. I actually agree with some of the things Kanye says pertaining to business but I disagreed with how he handled the situation. In business you never want to appear as someone difficult to do business with. He might be right with everything he said about Nike but it shouldn’t have been said vocally to this extent. Each interview Kanye keeps saying Nike isn’t a big company like we believe. That is simply not true and Adidas will never be as big as Nike in my opinion. This is where Kanye needs to come in show & prove people like me wrong. He claims he is Steve Jobs, Walt Disney and all the above he should add more stock value to Adidas so they can be a threat to Nike. What if Kanye’s shoe line for Adidas is very successful and Nike says we want Kanye again 50 mil and now royalties and Adidas won’t match. Money and success will open doors that were once closed. That’s why you don’t burn bridges in business.

  5. Sorry T, Rihanna is a queen and you’re trying to get on! You have to pick and choose your battles wisely next time!

  6. LOL! This is so wrong. Damn Teyana…just damn. Anyway, congrats to Drake. He really is winning right now and I’m happy for him.

  7. The truth is Teyana was an idiot about this. After like two minutes, Rihanna stopped responding to her and starting promoting her MAC products and Teyana’s dumb a-s was still going. She has no common sense. Now she lost money and burned bridges she’s going to wish she didn’t later.

  8. LMAO. Rihanna wins again. When will people learn not to ever come for her? And lol at Teyana’s struggle tweets. Girl you’re done. Trust. This is just the beginning.

  9. Doesn’t T stan for Bey? She better take a page out of her fav’s book and stop responding to foolishness on Twitter. There’s a reason Bey doesn’t respond to her haters. It just makes you look like the bigger fool when you do. Had she just ignored Rihanna, she’d still have the deal right now and people would have caught on to Rihanna’s petty behavior.

    1. he did not get dropped he demand royalties. which is smart. he’s designing the shoes he not lending his name so why he shouldn’t get pay for his work

  10. I forgot to say something about the post, LOL. I am not surprised that Teyanna has been dropped. Her shoe was hideous. EWW.

  11. that video posted of rihanna hair stylist singing did not have Teyana’s name on it. sometimes you need to know when to pick your battle. Rihanna was done with it as soon as the argument started, but teyanna couldn’t she continue the next day making radio rounds and twitter rant. Stupid is as stupid does.

  12. People give Rihanna way too much credit. She didn’t “win.” And she for damn sure isn’t “the queen.” Teyanna being dropped speaks to her character, not Rihanna’s influence, or lack thereof. There are some things you just do not joke about, and domestic violence is one of those things. Beyond the internet people need to understand that they have a life to live off the internet. You can’t talk wreckless online and expect companies to back you and want your face representing their product. I totally loathe Rihanna now, because as a victim, I don’t see how you turn around and victimize others. HOWEVER, it doesn’t give anyone the right to use something so painful against her. Talking about her inability to sing or perform would’ve been enough…that’s hella laughable.

Congrats to drake. But I agree with the other post that talks about royalties and Kanye making sense when it comes to his issue with Nike.

  13. It’s called karma and trust rihanna will get hers…however domestic violence isn’t something that should be joked about. Just because rihanna didn’t take her own situation seriously didn’t mean T should have made a joke about it.
