Beyonce surprised just about everyone and dropped her fifth studio album “Beyonce” at midnight, and it already appears that she’s managed to win big in album sales.

Billboard confirms that Beyonce has sold over 80,000 copies of her new album in just a little over three hours of its release. The publication reports:

In just a three-hour sales window (closing at midnight Friday PT), “Beyonce” reportedly sold over 80,000 copies, according to industry sources. It’s still too early to judge what the set will do over the full three days left in the sales tracking week (which ends Sunday night), but with prior projected leader, “Blame It All On My Roots: Five Decades Of Influences” by Garth Brooks, estimated to shift 150,000-160,000 units, Beyonce is already halfway to that sum. And in the time it would take someone to fly from New York to Miami.

Oh yeah, iTunes also shows that Beyonce is number one in about 60 plus countries, already. And did we mention Beyonce did this with absolutely no promotion at all?

This has been yet another big year for black women in music. And we’re loving it.

  1. That’s amazing. I’m so proud of her. She took a risk and it’s paying off big time. Not only that but the album is very good. Well done Bey!

  2. all the stats cannot correct how much this album sucks. its one big mixtape that should have sold for $5.00. if any other RNB chick put out the garbage you all would be dragging them so hard. no wonder she hid it from the critics. I think this is the worst black female album this year . i’m not even a ciara fan ,but i feel like buying her cd after listening to this garbage. after the hype wears off the we will start to hear how much of a mess this album is.

    1. Xedos, why are you so jealous? You’re a Rihanna stan. Please tell me how Rihanna’s album was any better or even close to a classic. Pour It Up? Shine bright Like a Diamond? LOL. Why does Beyonce make you so insecure? Isn’t your fave winning too? Please go away and stop letting your insecurities show. It’s so hilarious what Beyonce does to pathetic people like you. Now go back to Rap Up and continue to whine on there because Bey did something you wish Rihanna did. Or better yet, write another full essay on how Kim Kardashian is better than Beyonce and how we all want to be her. That’s your specialty, correct?? Smh.

    2. Beyonce and Rihanna are winning! Both of them. Accept it and stop trying to force your idiotic belief that only one black woman can be on top at a time you racist fool. You’re one of the reasons black people can’t get ahead. Crab!

    3. Aren’t you Navy? Why are so pressed like Rih ain’t good? Sit down somewhere and get over yourself. Bey’s album ain’t hurting Rihanna, so stop trolling like it is. Some of y’all are too weak to be Navy I swear.

    4. And the album is good. Stop being a weak hater. You hate on that girl no matter what she does. You trash Beyonce every chance you get. Let her be. Loser.

    5. Xedos, you’re honestly one of my least favorite people that comments on here. From all the rude comments you’ve written on here in which you disrespected us for not praising Kim K., to the really sad things you write about Beyonce. It really seems personal. Even when the post isn’t about her, you shade her. Please grow up. There can be more than one successful black woman at a time. Rihanna and Beyonce can both do their thing. You’re too childish for my taste.

      1. i have every dvd gone to ever concert been stannig while most of you were on dialup and Aol. i’m just giving my thoughts its a honest one none of you would accept this album from another black female.

        1. No you don’t you pathetic soul. I read the other blogs you frequent, you are always going in on Beyonce. Don’t try to lie and say you are a fan on here to make you it seem like your opinion is an unbiased one. Are you that pressed? I love it! LOL!

        2. Don’t tell me or anyone else what we would accept from another artist. You don’t have the authority to tell me or anyone else what kind of music we will and should like. Your reasoning is to equivalent to a jealous 12 year old brat who is angry they can’t change the current circumstances. I and many others love the album, deal with it.

        3. Xedos don’t make me copy and paste all the other comments you’ve been writing about Beyonce on the other blogs this whole time and expose you for the liar you are. You are not a fan of Beyonce. Stop it. Leave these people alone. They love her and that’s their choice. You are a hater and you’re just mad people are excited about this album. Get a life.

        1. What did Bey have to do with all those non Beyonce posts you brought her name up in on here? Do you forget half the trash you write on here or something? You’re odd. Most people can at least remember their trolling. I guess it gets hard when you troll so many different blogs, huh? Lmbo.

      2. So you’re really going to try to lie and act like you don’t use the same name on all the other blogs you troll on? Oh, ok.Typical, sad and pathetic Rihanna fan.

    6. What?! Sorry, the album is fire! I listened to the whole thing a few hours ago. That damn sure ain’t no mixtape. That was a well thought out album that had a concept, cohesiveness and a theme. And the videos are on point too. Stop the hate. I love Rihanna too but damn you’re a hater. lol

  3. I hate when Beyonce haters try to lie and pretend they are a stan so their hater opinion can look legitimate and unbiased. LOL.

    1. This is what this Xedos person does whenever Bey wins. He can’t stand it. And the only reason he’s a Rihanna fan is because he hates Beyonce. I’m sure Rihanna would rather have fans who actually love her and aren’t just in her corner because they are sick of Beyonce winning in life.

  4. I am not a Beyonce fan like that. I always felt her music wasn’t quality since her first one. But I absolutely adore this album and it’s the first album I have purchased in a seven years.

  5. Beyoncé will reign regardless of the hate, the comparisons, or the negative reviews from extreme haters, it doesn’t matter. P.S. the album is dope.
