Beyonce’s big year continues. After the singer surprised everyone including her own fan base by dropping an album on December 13 with absolutely no promotion, it appears that her reign on Billboard will not be short-lived, even though her critics suggested it would.
In fact, Beyonce’s latest album “Beyonce,” is expected to spend its third week at the number one spot on the Billboard 200 Chart.
If this happens, this will become Beyonce’s longest running number one album.
And the sales continue to stay strong for the new studio album too. According to Billboard, Beyonce is expected to sell around 250,000 more albums in its third week.
That number is still higher than the first week numbers for most of the new releases of 2013 during a struggling music industry where people still opt to illegally download music for free than purchase albums.
Congrats to Beyonce.
In related news, Beyonce just released part four of her mini documentary for her new album. In the clip, she defends her more sexual image and says a woman shouldn’t have to stop being sexual just because she’s a mother.
On the explicit track “Partition,” Bey says:
“There’s songs like Partition. And I’m in the studio and I hear this beat.
“And it takes me back to like being in my car…teenager. Â And it takes me back to when me and my husband first meet and he’s trying to scoop me and he thinks I’m the hottest thing in the world. And I kind of had this whole fantasy of being in this car and this whole movie played in my head.
“I didn’t have a pen and paper. I got to the mic and I’m like ‘Oh. Press Record! Uh, uh, uh!'”
Beyonce even explains what inspired the strip routine she pulled off for the music video:
“And I was so embarrassed after I recorded the song because I’m just talking sh*t. And I’m like I can’t play this for my husband. And I still haven’t played it for my mom. She’s going to be really mad at me.
“The day that I got engaged was my husband’s birthday. And I took him to Crazy Horse. And I remember thinking, ‘Damn these girls are fly.’ I just thought it was the ultimate sexy show I’ve ever seen. And I was like, ‘I wish I was up there. I wish I could perform that for my man.’ So that’s what I did for the video [laughs].
“I was very aware of the fact that I was showing my body. I was 195 pounds when I gave birth. I lost 65 pounds. I worked crazily to get my body back. I wanted to show my body! [laughs]”
Beyonce says it’s important people understand that sexuality isn’t something to be ashamed of:
“I wanted to show that you can have a child and you can work hard and get your body back. I know finding my sensuality and getting back into my body, being proud of growing up…it was important that I expressed that in this music because I know there’s so many women that feel the same thing after they give birth.
“You can have a child and you can still have fun and still be sexy. And still have dreams and still live for yourself.
“I don’t at all have any shame about being sexual. And I’m not embarrassed about it and I don’t feel like I have to protect that side of me because I do believe that sexuality is a power that we all have.”

This is one of the reasons I love Rihanna and Beyonce is growing on me. People are sexual beings, but society has this dumb rule that says women cannot act sexual in public because it makes them whores. Yet men are expected to be promiscuous throughout their lives and women are expected to tolerate their behavior just to say they have a man. That’s stupid. We all have sex. We all feel sexy. But why do women have to be ashamed of that?!
I say go head to Beyonce and who cares what these brainwashed people feel about it.

You make very valid points. I have to admit I too am I at a point where I am questioning why women have to be so secret with our sexuality and men do not. Bey is getting called all kinds of whores just because she got sexy for her husband. It’s just too much and demonstrates that women are held to some unfair standards.
Well Beyonce is grown. So if she wants to get sexy for her husband in her video, that’s her choice and right to do so as an artist. People will still call her all kind of names for doing it, but it is what is. As long as she is happy with it, that’s all that matters. You can’t live for other people your whole life anyway.
I am loving this new Beyonce! And Partition is my favorite joint on the album besides Drunk In Love!

Much respect to her. I think she made sexy look classy and that’s the difference between her and like the Kim K’s of the world. You can be sexy after becoming a mom, but just make sure you’re still classy with it.
