Rihanna is known for her “bad gal” image, but she still wants people to know there’s so much more to her than being a rebel, drinking and smoking.
And her fans know that better than anyone else.
The singer has even said on numerous occasions that the love she gets from her fans keeps her going in a tough music industry, but she especially feels very close to her “navy” of supporters. In fact, she feels like they are her extended family members.
So when she got word that one of them was murdered along with their sibling and mother, she instantly wanted to do all she could to help out her fan’s family.
14-year-old Thiago Sobral Valencia was stabbed to death by his enraged drunken stepfather. Reports also claim Thiago’s mother and nine-year-old brother were also murdered.
When Rihanna got word of the tragedy, she reached out to the family to offer to pay for the funeral:
According to reports, the family graciously declined Rihanna’s offer but they asked her to do a tribute instead.
Props to Rihanna for having such a big heart.
UB thank you for posting this. Most sites won’t because they need people to still believe the bad image they put out about Rihanna. The truth is she’s a really good person who has flaws. But she loves her fans and that’s why we ride for her so hard.
Of course they won’t. LOL.
This is so true!!!!! I saw this and I shook my head because I know so many more sites owned by blacks will not report on this. But they are quick to put up all the negative stories and lies about Rihanna.
That goes for Beyonce too though. Most black sites don’t post positive stories about Beyonce either. I’ve noticed that only a few do. It’s sad because we should see both sides of all celebs. Not just the negative!

She’s a very down to earth person and loves her fans. I’m not surprised she did this. If people stop letting the blogs tell them who she is, they would know that’s she is a very sweet person. And very real. I love her.
