While many of us are still trying to speculate on just what could have caused Solange to attack Jay Z so violently in the elevator at the Met Gala, all three celebs have officially broken their silence on the matter and they want the public to know they are moving forward and they have family issues just like any other family.

They tell the Associated Press:

As a result of the public release of the elevator security footage from Monday, May 5th, there has been a great deal of speculation about what triggered the unfortunate incident. But the most important thing is that our family has worked through it. Jay and Solange each assume their share of responsibility for what has occurred. They both acknowledge their role in this private matter that has played out in the public. They both have apologized to each other and we have moved forward as a united family.

The reports of Solange being intoxicated or displaying erratic behavior throughout that evening are simply false. At the end of the day families have problems and we’re no different. We love each other and above all we are family. We’ve put this behind us and hope everyone else will do the same.

This should also put to rest rumors that Beyonce and Jay Z would be calling off their “On The Run” tour.

    1. No but it’s a sign of closure because basically they are saying we are not going to ever tell the public what happened so y’all might as well move on and talk about something else.

    2. It sure won’t. I’m almost expecting SNL to do a skit on it. That video was everywhere. CNN, ABC News…EVERYWHERE.

  1. Well families fight and make up all the time. But since they are famous, people will still talk.

  2. If they didn’t try so hard to look perfect all the time this wouldn’t have blown up the way it did.

    1. I don’t think living a private life can be equated to trying to live a perfect life, friend. Just because you’re famous doesn’t mean that everything about your life has to be transparent.

  3. Well good for them if they are really trying to work through it. I just hope the affair rumors aren’t true.

  4. To me Solange needs put out her own statement apologizing for how this went down because she looked like the biggest fool. Like regardless of what family issues you don’t attack and go mortal kombat on Jay. I understand them trying to put up a united front but Solange needs to issue a solo apology.

  5. The ONLY thing that is sad about this is that they had to put out a statement at all. smh.

  6. I don’t see why Solange or anyone should have to issue an apology to the public at all. Nothing was done to the public and as I’ve said before, I’m sure everybody on this site has done something that would make others say we’re crazy too.
