Rihanna is a social media giant and has millions of followers on Twitter (she’s no longer on Instagram), but one of her own fans is calling her out because she believes she used social media to ignite those to cyber bully her.

The fan is a teen who resides in Baltimore and when she made the choice to wear a dress Rihanna wore to her high school prom, the choice became on ongoing gag and roast session thanks to memes on social media.

Not only did her outfit result in a touchy hashtag entitled #PromBat on Twitter but even Rihanna joined in on the topic with a few tweets of her own.

WBFF Fox Baltimore reports:

But what was, perhaps, most disturbing to Alexis was a tweet from her now former idol, Rihanna, who posted a photo of herself wearing the dress (with caption “IG”) alongside a photo of Alexis in her dress (with caption “Real Life”) and a sad face. In another tweet, Rihanna posted a photo of the teen alongside the bat-like logo of the Wu-Tang clan.

“I was very offended,” Alexis said of Rihanna’s tweets. “Why throw shade on it when you had on the exact same thing. The poses was different but the outfit wasn’t.”

…”She don’t love her fans like she says she does,” Alexis said.

Rihanna has not yet commented on the situation.

In related news, Rihanna may be caught up in some bad press with a former fan but she’s also taking time to do some good too.

The singer donated $25,000 to the LAPD after she mistakenly dropped L.A. Police Commission President Steve Soboroff’s cellphone last week at a basketball game.

  1. Was this girl ever really a fan because I thought Rihanna’s fans would come to expect this kind of behavior from her.

  2. Rihanna has to start being mindful of her social media influence. Unfortunately a lot of her young fans are mindless followers and will do whatever she does. She may not want to be a role model but she is the leader of her navy. Time to act like it.

  3. So she’s a fan but she has a background picture of Chris Brown on her Twitter account? Riiightt…

    1. Even though I honestly think she was joking, she should apologize because it’s the right thing to do. You don’t want to hurt your fans and let the media run with it.

  4. It’s time for Rihanna to be more careful on Twitter. I don’t think that’s going to happen though. So I would suggest this fan doesn’t hold her breath for an apology.

  5. Rhianna didn’t look good in it and neither did she. I mean it’s probably a look Rhianna would like to forget. The girl should get over it. From what I read other people talked about her too but she only mentions one person.

  6. Why does Rihanna put herself in these situations. Why did she even have to comment. Like does she not have nothing better to do but troll on social media. I would be laying on beach somewhere on a beach sipping a mimosa.

  7. This is part of Rihanna’s schtick. She is supposed to be the bad girl who causes trouble and doesn’t care who it affects. It must be exhausting to thug on the internet all the time…

  8. Not a die hard fan of Ri she ok but I really think she be joking sometime I mean you really don’t know the tone of voice when someone type so when she say any lil thing it gets blew up! but o well it’s her career maybe she need to be a WOMAN and say “It was a joke” I’m always waiting to see if she do she always have people do it for her like a (stylist, friend) or so just not whats up RIRI

  9. I understand Rihanna doesn’t want to be a role model, but she needs to understand she’s going to have influence over her fans regardless. If she makes fun of anyone it’s always going to be 10X worse than if one of us does it. I doubt she’ll apologize, but with having a rep for being an “internet bully” she should at least consider it.
