Hip Hop journalists have been giving up and coming Australian rapper Iggy Azalea lots of praise lately and Forbes recently declared Iggy as the one woman who runs Hip Hop. Many felt the headline was disrespectful to Nicki Minaj but Nicki says via a recent radio interview that’s she unbothered:
“I think that congratulations is in order. Her single is doing really, really well and I think that’s a good thing. One thing I’m not is a hater. If somebody is doing something and they did it well, and their song is charting well, then congratulations.”
However, Nicki says she wishes more female rappers would follow her lead and give her the props she deserves too:
“I just want female rappers to understand that I’ve kicked in a lot of doors for them and I just would appreciate if they would acknowledge that.”
What in the delusional hell? Nicki did not open any doors for female rappers. She actually set them back many years. But that’s another topic for another day.
As far as Iggy goes, she’s a joke and she’s mimicking black culture to get on. Whites are trying to make her happen because they love to make themselves look as if they are running our music. I won’t be supporting Iggy.
How did she set them back when she made history? Come on now!

People you can hate Nicki all you want, but you can’t discredit what she’s achieved in her career. Just admit she’s done good and done a lot of things other female rappers wish they could have. Giving her props doesn’t mean she’s the best of all time. That of course is subjective!

Very nice of her. I’m gonna be a hater though, that song is not that great and neither is Iggy. I liked her songs on her mixtapes better now all of a sudden she puts out basura caliente and it’s charted to #2 and she’s the greatest female white rapper of all time. Oh ok…

The media is only trying to make Iggy happen because she’s a white woman. She’s a terrible rapper and the fact that she fakes her rap accent when she’s from Australia bothers me. But what Forbes did was really ridiculous. One hit from Iggy doesn’t dethrone what Nicki has done. And I’m not even a Nicki fan.

Queen Latifah well y’all know what Queen Larifah has done and is doing now. Iggy does not run hip hop. Period. I don’t have a problem with her, but they are reaching like hell for saying that. However I’m glad Nicki took the high road and did not trash her. I’m really loving the changes she’s making in general 🙂
