Although the TLC biopic was a major success for VH1, the network ended up getting slapped with a lawsuit by Pebbles Reid because she claims the film portrayed her in a defamatory way.
She still denies that she purposely got TLC into financial hardships and she feels the network willingly put out false information to make her look bad.
But Viacom, the company who owns VH1, is clapping back at Pebbles’ lawsuit and they claim in the response that the movie was pretty accurate.

So what’s the latest? theJasmineBRAND.com has learned exclusively that this week, Viacom fired back at the allegations they defamed Reid. In the docs they state that based on their knowledge, Reid did have control over TLC’s lawyers and withheld information from the band in regards to their contract. The network also says that the record label did not provide the girls with their contracts unlike Pebbles allegation they did.
They also accuse Pebbles of turning down merchandise deals for the girls, despite her accusation TLC had 100% control over such things.
Interestingly enough, the network also denies that they ever published a retraction or any statement suggesting the film was inaccurate, a claim Pebbles made during her appearance on The Wendy Williams Show.
And in the paperwork filed by Viacom, they state that there is proof that Pebbles wasn’t being honest when she claimed the money she advanced TLC and their royalties didn’t go through her.
The network also denies that it willingly aired a movie which made false accusations and it labels the movie as a docudrama that distills important life events of the successful girl group.
Bottom line, Viacom does not believe the film was false or defamatory and they are asking the judge to dismiss the suit.
Pebbles is attempting to sue Viacom/VH1 for $40 million.
Pebbles just needs to stop. $40 million for what?
Viacomm has deep pockets meaning they have better lawyers than her and will drag this out as long as possible until she can’t afford to pay her lawyers anymore. I know what she is doing she is hoping that they just pay her off to go away or give her a settlement she is proving that she is just as greedy as portrayed.

I think Pebbles is one of those people who lies so much she starts to think it’s the truth. Lol.
