We’ve all been wanting justice for Jordan Davis after the teen was brutally shot and murdered for playing music loudly at a gas station in Jacksonville, Florida. While Dunn was originally convicted of attempted murder, a retrial has resulted in justice. It’s been confirmed that Michael Dunn has been found guilty of first degree murder and we couldn’t be happier.
The Huffington Post writes:
Michael Dunn was found guilty of first-degree murder in the killing of 17-year-old Jordan Davis in September, 2012 after an argument over loud music.
The jury took about 5 hours to reach a verdict on Wednesday.
A jury deadlocked in February over whether to convict him of killing Davis.
He was convicted on three counts of attempted murder for shooting at Davis’ friends in the car.
Dunn testified at this month’s trial as well as his last that he killed Davis in self-defense after the teen threatened him. He also said he thought Davis had a gun, but no weapon was ever found.
Thank God!
I’m so relieved for the parents. Lord knows they’ve been through so much.
I thought he would get off because of the makeup of the jury. Thank goodness I was wrong.
I did too!!!! I just knew he wouldn’t get first degree murder. God is so good.
Yeah me too. I’m glad that didn’t happen.
Justice finally!
It’s about damn time.
SOOOOOOO glad this got posted!!!! I’m elated for this child’s family and friends. Just looking at that man I could tell he intentionally killed him and NOT in self-defense. Thank God for those jurors.
Florida finally got it right.
Evil bastard.
Hallelujah! Now if we could only get the same sort of justice for Michael Brown! I’m proud of the folks who’re still protesting in Ferguson, despite the media moving on.
Ditto.
Finally get justice for this family. RIP young man.
I guess I can stop boycotting Florida…well nah I’ll still boycott.
So glad he was found guilty…… hope this motivates other families & communities to keep pushing for justice.
