A lot of folks were shocked when Bravo confirmed that Porsha Williams would no longer be holding a peach on RHOA and Claudia Jordan was handed her peach instead.
Although Porsha will no longer be a full-time housewife, she will remain a friend to the ladies, and still play a role in the reality show.
Interestingly enough, Kandi Burruss revealed no one knew about Bravo’s choice until yesterday morning when the trailer was released.
TMZ reported last night that Porsha was demoted because she once again attacked Kenya Moore during a meeting held by the producers, but Porsha denies the report and claims she feels she lost her peach because the network didn’t deem her interesting enough.
In a statement sent to Dish Nation, Porsha says:
This is not an easy time for me right now, but I want let everyone to know that I loved being a ‘Housewife’ on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, and I am thankful for Bravo for the opportunity but it’s not goodbye, you will see me on the show throughout the season sharing and bonding with the other women and I promise to stay connected with my fans as I start an exciting new time in my life.
After a long season of filming, and giving my all, I was blindsided by the announcement from the network that I was demoted from ‘Housewife Status,’ but would remain on the show in a ‘Friend’ capacity.
Unfortunately, I can only be PORSHA, and portraying anything else, would not be genuine nor honest. This moment is bittersweet, but God has been so amazing to me, and I think this is a perfect time for me to spread my wings, and finally focus on all of my upcoming projects.
In addition to having my recurring role on RHOA, I will be able to focus my attention on my career as an Entertainment Correspondent on DISH NATION on the Fox Network, recording my album, building my businesses, and taking baby steps towards nurturing my relationship with my new love!!!
This is the beginning of a new chapter in my life, and I will be giving my fans & supporters another chance to watch my growth as I take on the world in my own special way very soon!! I am so Thankful for all that #TEAMPORSHA does to keep me INSPIRED every day! Stay Tuned…
And just in case you missed it yesterday, Porsha’s new love is none other than Philadelphia Eagles star running back LeSean McCoy. The two have reportedly been dating for a few months now.
Sounds about right. Welp, hopefully life will get better for her since she won’t be on RHOA like that anymore. The show is entertaining but it does seem like it’s brought out the worst in everyone now.
F-ck Bravo. I hate how they are pimping out all these black women and for Kenya to be as intelligent as she claims to be why can’t she see she’s being played?
So Bravo has a Mona Scott Young policy now. Either you turn up or you get handed a pink slip. I would hate for this show to get just as messy as LHHATL. That would be sad to see.
I don’t get Porsha. She had no problems acting a fool at the reunion a few months ago and attacking Kenya, but now she wants to be classy? Lol.
Bravo tried to force her to put her relationship out there, and she didn’t want to. Good for her!
Bish clocked out with a new job, a new athlete boo, and even more fame. I’d say she won and she will be just fine.
Kenya and Claudia are about to run this show to the ground. Watch and see. Bravo is not playing the game right.
So Kenya tweeted that her and Claudia are going to “snatch wigs” this season. Ugh. I can’t stand them already.
I really liked Porsha. I thought she was funny and she made the show light hearted when it was too much drama going on. It just seems like it’s going to be too much drama from here on out.
I wish her the best. I enjoyed Porsha. I can see the show is really beginning to change.
This could end up being a blessing for her.
I will miss her. But everything happens for a reason.
