Beyonce’s last album was considered pretty edgy by most music critics, but the edge worked for her because the album went platinum in one week and so far just by the additional sales it’s picked up this year, it’s sold more copies than any other album released this year.

However, parents at a Mississippi middle school are furious because the band actually performed “Partition” at one of the halftime shows.

WAPT 16 News writes:

After the Northwest Middle School band played the song, some parents called WAPT-TV and others posted complaints on Facebook.

The school has banned the song from its playlist.

“Several parents felt it was inappropriate, while others said they had no problem with it,” a Jackson Public Schools representative said.

The JPS representative said the principal talked to concerned parents and apologized.

  1. Love Bey but I can understand the parents on this one. She definitely didn’t make the song for middle schoolers.

  2. I don’t know why some grown people don’t know how to enjoy things without shoving it down the throats of kids. I love Partition too but I know middle school kids shouldn’t be performing it at no damn halftime show.

  3. The band director should be the blame for that, not Mother. That band director should have pick another Beyonce song thats more appropriate for middle school students.

  4. I know this isn’t funny to the parents but I think I may have laughed at this for like 5 minutes straight. Some people have no chill.

  5. I just wonder how many of these parents who complained let these kids listen to this song at home or in the car!
