Phaedra Parks’ marriage to Apollo Nida has gone down south, and folks are divided about whether or not Phaedra was in the wrong for not being supportive during his prison stint.
Kandi Burruss’ hubby Todd Tucker feels Phaedra is plain out wrong, but Kandi herself is on the fence.
However, Kandi claims in her recent Bravo blog that Phaedra doesn’t feel she’s been a supportive bestie:
It’s very hard. Phaedra is always assuming I’m siding with Apollo, which isn’t true. Todd and Apollo became pretty good friends, so I would say he takes Apollo’s side a lot. Todd and I have serious debates over their issues. Sometimes I get to the point where I’m like, “Listen Todd, we shouldn’t be arguing about their problems.” It’s crazy really… At the end of the day Phaedra is my girl. I’m always going to be honest with her about what I think. Sometimes we have a difference of opinion, but it’s not because I’m taking anyone’s side against her. Never that! It always sucks when two people that you really like are going through something as crazy as this. I’ve always heard that when a married couple goes through a divorce the people close to them end up going through the divorce with them. I never understood what that meant before, but I do now.
Then there’s Phaedra’s blog which kind of makes people suspect she’s at odds with Kandi:
NeNe and Porsha have been extremely supportive of me and very attentive throughout this entire ordeal, and for that I am extremely grateful. Unfortunately, some of the others decided to use my personal crisis as an opportunity to further their own interests and talk to the media to get press for themselves. The lack of compassion was, at times, shocking.
And if that wasn’t enough, NeNe Leakes also appears to be hinting there’s some turmoil going on with Kandi and Phaedra in her blog:
As far as Phaedra and Apollo, it’s always sad to see a family end no matter who’s right or wrong. I’m glad I can say I was a rock for Phaedra during this time and never judged her. This definitely should be an eye opener for her as well, because it’s always the ones you never thought would support you that do and the ones you thought would be there during rough times that always seem to magically disappear.
While it does seem like the friendship may have suffered somewhat, Phaedra and Kandi have still been hanging out, and Kandi posted photos of their latest outing to her Instagram account a few days ago. So perhaps the besties are still holding on.
I feel for them both, cuz it’s a no win situation. But it’s through difficult times like this is when you find out who your real friends are, and how willing they are to go to bat for you.
I just find it hypocritical that NeNe was trying to accuse Kenya of breaking up her friendship with Cynthia when NeNe is basically doing the same thing to Kandi and Phaedra.

Are you serious? How the heck is Nene trying to break up their friendship? You Kenya stans will find any reason to blame Nene for everything that goes down on that show. Ridiculous!
Not true. NeNe is on decent terms with Kandi. She even bought Kandi the best and most expensive wedding gift. I think NeNe was really shading Cynthia in that excerpt.

I really hope Kandi and Phaedra will be ok. I love their friendship but I do understand how this could hurt their relationship. Phaedra really wants Kandi to tell her she agrees with what she’s doing but it’s hard for Kandi because Apollo is her friend too.
I think they’ll be fine. All friends go through rough patches.
Phaedra needs to hear she’s right about how she is doing Apollo but it’s not Kandi’s responsibility to always agree with everything she does.
It does seem like Phae was shading Kandi in that blog. Hmm…
When your husband or man hurt you, how can you stand by them? Apollo, deceived Phaedra with Kenya, who really know if they slept together? You reap what you sow…if none of that mess has not happened maybe Phaedra would have stood by Apollo. Phaedra, is hurt by the deception…Nene, is being a friend to her by not taking sides. When Nene was going through her divorce the only person she had was Cynthia. If you ask me they are all Fair-weather friends.
I don’t know how to feel about this because in one way Kandi & Todd are to invested in Phaedra & Apollo’s relationship that they are constantly arguing about it. But on the other hand Phaedra & Apollo shouldn’t put Kandi & Todd in their drama. Just a messy situation.
Phaedra needs to understand that Kandi doesn’t want to pick sides. I wouldn’t either.
I really hope this was just a rough patch in their friendship that they have since gotten over. Their friendship was one of the few remaining positive aspects of this show. Todd really needs to stay in his lane, to be honest. Kandi and Phaedra had a friendship prior to his marriage to Kandi so it should come as no surprise that she is going to ride for Phaedra (even if she doesn’t agree with everything.) That’s what friends do. Arguing over the divorce is so over the top.
They are my favorite two friends on the show. So I hope they will stay close.
YESSSS FINALLLLLLLLYYYYY! I HAVE WAITED FOR THIS FOR YEARS!!!!!!! I always liked Kandi but I couldn’t fully love her because of her friendship with that shady a-s mess of a Pheadra! Now I’m happy!

Well when your friend’s going through a lot of mess, it can hurt the friendship. But I doubt they won’t get through this. They actually do have a genuine friendship.
