R&B singer Chrisette Michele’s time on “R&B Divas LA” got her plenty of backlash on social media, and many of her own fans felt signing up for the show was bad for her image.
After all the criticism, Chrisette wrote an open letter on Instagram and told her fans she regretted doing the show and didn’t feel it would be in her best interest to return for another season.
We’re not sure what happened to change her mind, but sources tell us Chrisette Michele signed on for the upcoming season.
In the meantime, check out a video teaser of her new song “Together.” The song is featured on her EP “The Lyricists’ Opus.” It dropped today.
It really irritates the crap outta me, when these folks sign on for these shows and then act like they are above it all. You wanted the noteriety, and the exposure, then deal with the backlash! But please quit the “I’m so much better than the rachet self I portrayed on the show – that’s not me” foolishness! *rolls eyes*
She didn’t learn the first time I see.
She’s foolish. That show does nothing to help her career. It only hurts it.
Why? What is this show doing for her? Her career wasn’t helped at all. And she turned off a lot of her own fans with her attitude. I guess she wants to see how much more destruction it can do.
I hate that people with actual talent are now feeling like they have to do reality shows for exposure. What has the industry turned into??
Love her music but she didn’t need to come back. I’ve seen this show only hurt images. Look at Lil Mo. Now she’s just one big joke.
I don’t watch the show so I’m unaware of all that BUT I like this snippet. I miss the old Chrisette (musically). Her voice on this track takes me back to that time. Hopefully she releases a cd worth paying for….
