Many were starting to wonder why Chris Rock kept promoting his new film ” Top Five” without his wife on his arm, but now the comedian’s camp confirms to PEOPLE that the couple has split after almost 20 years together.
PEOPLE writes:
Rock’s attorney, Robert S. Cohen, confirmed the couple has split.
“Chris Rock has filed for divorce from his wife, Malaak,” Cohen said in a statement. “This is a personal matter and Chris requests privacy as he and Malaak work through this process and focus on their family.”
The Top Five star, 49, wed Compton-Rock, 45, in 1996. They live in Alpine, New Jersey, with their two daughters together, Lola Simone, 12, and Zahra Savannah, 10.
I thought they separated already.
I think they have been down this road before but no one ever officially filed before. Chris actually filed this time.
This is unfortunate I wish them the best.

Idk details surrounding their history but news of the split still saddens me, especially taking into consideration the age of their two children.

They have always had problems. And I think Chris admitted on some tapes that he actually has a thing for white trashy women. I guess they tried to make it work, but when you’re not in to someone, you’re just not. I second the people who said he will end up with a white woman.
