Drake is clearly the bigger star when it comes to his feud with Meek Mill, but to suggest he’s somehow hurting Nicki Minaj’s tour sales isn’t very accurate.
Multiple sites are claiming Drake and Meek’s beef is hurting Nicki’s tour since Meek is one of her opening acts but Forbes claims despite the rap beef, Nicki’s tour is one of the most successful of the summer alongside J. Cole.
And despite what some are reporting, the demand for the Pinkprint tour is very high.
…Leading the way for the genre, Nicki Minaj’s “The Pinkprint” tour and J. Cole’s “Forest Hills Drive” tour have had the biggest demand on the ticket market. Both tours will wrap this month, and tickets are still available on the primary and secondary market.
Backed by up-and-comers DeJ Loaf, Tinashe, Rae Sremmurd and Meek Mill, Nicki Minaj’s “The Pinkprint” tour has sailed steadily throughout its summer course. The tour, which kicked off July 17, is in support of Nicki’s 2014 release The Pinkprint, which debuted at No. 2 on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart and held that position for three weeks before falling to No. 3. The album was the second highest in first-week sales for a female artist in 2014 and second highest in first week sales for a rap artist in 2014. Across the tour map, Nicki Minaj tickets have maintained an average of $157 a ticket.
Congrats to J. Cole and Nicki.
