NeNe Leakes Gets Some More Good News

According to Entertainment Weekly, NeNe has joined the “Chicago” cast.

Apparently she will have a four-week run.

Entertainment Weekly writes:

Leakes will play Matron “Mama” Morton, most notably portrayed by Queen Latifah in the 2002 film adaptation. Her run will begin on Nov. 23 and last until Dec. 20.

Leakes made her Broadway debut last year as the wicked stepmother in Cinderella. Before that, she competed on Dancing with the Stars and The Celebrity Apprentice and had a recurring role on Glee.

Chicago – in its 19th year on Broadway – currently stars Rumer Willis as Roxie Hart, Amra-Faye Wright as Velma Kelly, Jason Danieley as Billy Flynn, and NaTasha Yvette Williams as Mama Morton. Chicago vet Carol Woods will return as Mama from Nov. 2 to Nov. 22, after which Leakes will take over.

  1. All this going on wit Nene while Kenya remains twirling on RHOA!!!….Kenya & co is really doing it big hahahahhahahahaha lmao

    1. I wonder if any network bothered to check out Kenya’s Facebook TV pilot. I know alot of people including myself is sad that Nene won’t be on this season of RHOA but it was wise for her to do so. She’s at a place where she’s happy and continuing being on a show with a bunch of has-beens and irrelevant women who have nothing to lose would’ve made her lose focus of her goals and dreams.

    1. I don’t dislike Nene and you already know that. I just call her out on her BS. Something most of y’all refuse to do.

    1. I agree but Nene’s drive is insane. I remember that scene she had with her agent on RHOA and she was straight up telling him she’s not settling for corny roles. She wants respectable parts and opportunities. Now she’s doing Broadway yet again.

  2. Shout out to all those people who said she wouldn’t be able to find any work if she left RHOA. She needs RHOA they said. Oh.

    1. Exactly!!!! RHOA needs Nene more than Nene needs RHOA. Ya’ll gonna see some true colors and ugliness come out with these ladies and folks won’t be able to pin the blame on Nene.

  3. I’m actually happy for NeNe. She came a long way. I don’t think any of us expected her to end up on Broadway. The other girls can shade her all they want but she’s really doing it big.

  4. Good for her. She may find out she doesn’t really need to ever go back to RHOA and that’s just fine. The show gave her a good start but it’s not really needed anymore.

  5. Say what you want about Nene but she is always trying to advance herself and her career and it shows. I’m so happy for Nene.

    1. Who the f*** cares that you don’t like her, I bet she don’t. And if you don’t like her why are you on here talking about her? If I don’t like someone I don’t give them the time of day. Just saying.

  6. I wish her much success. Hopefullyz she will leave behind her over the top attitude, larger than life personality, and I’m better than you mentality.

I truly believe she would have the staying power, if shewould tone down her behavior and improve her presentation skills.
